Homely 3 Bed House Halifax

The property is situated in a nice quiet area of Halifax. Parking was good outside the property with a permit thats provided. Saad the owner was very helpful & responds to queries quickly. The price is great for people on a budget looking for somewhere to stay. The general cleanliness was good with nice bedding & towels. Nice new looking comfy sofas & beds. Kitchen very big with good oven, hob, microwave etc etc.

-The property is in need of some updating & redecoration as its looking very tired. - The shower needs updating as its not very powerful. - Back bedrooms in need of curtains awell as the blinds as very light. - More equipment needed for the kitchen ie pint glasses/ bigger glasses, lighter or matches to light the hob, cutlery, air fryer, cloth & sponge for washing up, cleaning table & sides. - Carpets in need of a deep clean or replacing as stained & cigarette burned. - High dusting & low dusting of ceilings & skirting boards as dusty & cobwebs. - Stairs very steep & narrow due to age of property so anyone with mobilty issues would struggle.

We booked this property at the last minute after our booking with a different host was cancelled on the day we were due to arrive due to a leaking pipe at their property. We were left in a difficult situation as we were worried that we would not be able to find anywhere else at such short notice. It was therefore a real relief to find this property. It helped to ease a stressful situation that the host was really helpful and easy to communicate with. The property was really clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was located in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood close to the town centre. We had an enjoyable stay.

No negatives.

Clean and well presented overall. Comfortable beds. Spacious kitchen. Modern TV and good WiFi access. Seemed a pleasant neighbourhood, complete with cobblestone streets.

The listing said there was a dishwasher and toiletries provided: this was not the case. Also, the sofa arrangement in the lounge was different to that pictured in the listing and the ‘garden’ is a back yard accessed by some very deep steps. The internal staircase is also steep - typical for a Victorian terrace of this type. The amount of usable glassware, pots and pans & kitchen utensils, etc were adequate but could be improved - particularly the drinking glasses, which were small.

The property was spacious and big enough for our family. It was on a quiet road so we were able to rest. The communication from the owners was spot on, we had a couple of questions during our stay and they came straight back to us.

Not dislikes but areas for consideration:- We were a family of 4 and found we needed a bit more cutlery at meal times. The kitchen door doesn’t shut properly which was tricky with our two dogs when we wanted to open the front door to bring luggage in without them running out.

The house is in a great location in a family friendly and safe area. Station and town centre are a short walk away. We found the house spacious and comfortable, and the layout suited our family of 4 (3 generational) Communication with the host was excellent, very helpful and responsive.

The house was exactly as described, so I dont think the host could be expected to do anything differently.

Location, parking, facilities, cleanliness and communication with Landlord. Problem with the oven immediately resolved by Landlord. Easily accommodated up to five family members.

Missed the bin collection day. Nothing else to not like.

Had everything we needed, was warm, clean and importantly, accepted our dog. Lastly we had a problem with the oven which was sorted immediately. Communication with Landlord was excellent.

Lighting in kitchen needs improving. Bin collection details need communicating.

If you are looking for a property in Halifax pick this one! It’s clean, well presented. Everything is there to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The owner is very helpful with any questions you have. The view from the kitchen is stunning!

Nothing
