Cottage No1 Four Bed Lakeland Retreat and Hot Tub

Beautiful cottage in a great location with amazing views.

Visiting the caravan park to collect and return the key seemed unnecessary. The staff were lovely but a lock box for the key at the cottage would surely suffice?

We liked every thing.I could not fault a thing one of the best places weve ever stayed in.The lady who came to test hot tub really friendly and gave us good advice on where to go thankyou

Great location, lovely spacious cottage, beautifully decorated, very comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped for cooking, and so useful to have the washing machine and dryer. The garden was fantastic, the photos on the website don’t do it justice! Hot tub was checked every day and everything spotlessly clean. We would love to come back again in the future.

Although there are 2 bathrooms only one has a shower, the other is a bath with hand held shower attachment but no shower screen etc. so you can’t really use it as a shower. As the cottage now sleeps 8, putting in a shower seems a good idea.

The cottage is in a stunning location, walkable distance to both Ambleside and Elterwater with lovely walks on the door step. The facilities were great and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay here, the cottage is beautiful!

One small thing to note is that I found a few ticks on our dog after he’d been out in the garden. Just something to be aware of if you are bringing a dog (although ours does like to shove his head in every bush to have a sniff 😂)

1. Heating not working. E mails not seen. Maintenance came out, but heating still not working next morning. 2. No water coming out of hot tap. Repaired on second call 3. Seemed to be difficult to get messages through, even though I seemed to be getting a lot of publicity re the cottage and caravan site
