A Cheaper Option to Hotel (free street parking)

Nice bed, free parking in the same street, kitchen included. Restaurants within walking distance.

The shower was almost above the toilet; the whole bathroom was very tiny. Whole room felt a bit dark, while the light in the bathroom was way too bright.

Nice communication with the owner (you get all the instructions, advices, transfer information, concerts etc.), self check in, free parking near the building if there is free space, you can walk to the famous sightseeing places very fast, nice neighbourhood with grocery shops etc. Not far is electric car station. It is ok for one night stay.

The apartment itself was not very clean, there was garbage after previous tourists, the oven looked like nobody has ever cleaned it. The bed sheets were very crumpled (I understand that when guests take the clean bedding out of the washing machine and try to put it on shelf, where is no much space, nobody cares about folding it, but still the it does not change the feeling. Usually the bedsheets are ironed or do not look so сrumpled). The fridge also had signs from previous guests. As I understood it was one apartment split into two, so in new variant the toilet and the shower are really tiny which makes not so comfortable. I knew that we have to put bedding before leaving to the washing machine (owner asked to put only two pieces), but I suppose everyone puts more (bed linen also). So the washing machine worked little bit longer. If you are planning to wash your clothes I suppose you will not be able, because the washing machine worked even at 23:00.

Excellent location and good kitchen setup. Great for eating in, as eating out can be very costly. The negatives are minor, but the owner should consider making better as it is a great apartment for this price.

The downside of this cheaper apartment is the combo toilet/shower and having to wash the sheets when you leave. Seems strange when there are plenty of spare sheets and towels in the cupboard. I can't understand why the cleaner can't wash them when they change bedding. Also, I would recommend the owner buying 4 x new pillows to replace the 2 old ones. Most places have extra pillows, and the old ones have pretty well had it.

Location

The room was dirty. The only toiletries available are hand and dish wash. Just one towel and needed to go outside the room to find toilet paper. The host sends a lot of messages before your stay what make you think everything will be ready but it’s not like that. Also, you have to wash their blankets.

The location was excellent, allowing for a short and convenient walk into Ålesund's charming old town. We also appreciated the ease of finding street parking, which can often be a challenge. Furthermore, the beds were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.

We found the kitchen supplies to be minimal. Specifically, there was no dishwashing liquid or tea towel provided, which meant we couldn't properly wash the dishes. Upon messaging the owner, he acknowledged the oversight and promised to drop some off, but it didn't arrive until the following day.
