It had books to read, a few games to play, the bed was comfortable.

Unfortunately the sofa bed was not comfortable.

Clean and everything was explained of how to find things and how to set the sofa bed up.

Quick response from owner and went out of his way to provide some kind of chair for baby to sit and eat

Poor standard of cleanliness. Not practical or big enough for family of four, particularly a young baby due to steps, lots of wires and extension leads, unsafe furniture (table tops not secured), no high chair, too many ornaments and felt cluttered, thick layer of dust on many surfaces, dirty windowsills and other surfaces, advertised as 1/2 beds but definitely one bedroom with very uncomfortable sofa bed, no lighting outside to access key box or front door/hall, very difficult to find parking space, some furniture smelt of dogs, location to seafront a good 15min walk and very hilly and/or steps

Good location. The road was quiet but only a 15 minute walk from the railway station/town centre. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

We couldn't access the channels we wanted on the TV in the living room, but that was probably down to our age and ineptitude!

Dangerous property and dismissive host. On our second night, we noticed a burning smell — the heater plug (used as host instructed, via an extension cable) had melted through with a hole, with black scorch marks and toxic fumes. A serious fire could have started within minutes.
I informed her immediately via WhatsApp with photos, outlining the situation. The host’s response was simply, “Thanks for letting us know, there’s another heater you can use.” No apology or concern. After I raised it again the next day and requested a refund, she eventually apologised with a "sorry" (claiming she had earlier, which was untrue) and offered only 50% back, asking us not to leave a bad review. She later told Booking.com we’d left the heater unattended (false!) and failed to report it when it happened (we reported immediately) - both completely false. My electrician friend told me that plugging heaters into extension cables is unsafe (she should not be telling guests to do this!), and her minimisation, and lack of responsibility or contrition was shocking. Had the host shown immediate concern for our safety, and given a full refund (given the serious nature of this) and given an immediate apology (a brief sorry was given grudgingly the next day) I might have considered not writing this review, but given all the issues I felt I needed to warn other guests.
