Hotel Rega Suites Guayabitos - Family & Kitchen

Great basic hotel room, nothing fancy but everything you need. Good location close to many restaurants, markets and beach. Enjoyed being there with all the Canadian snowbirds..... Such a nice community feel to the place!

Entrance on the main street with hotel sitting behind stores, 2 blocks from beach, quiet hotel, lovely pool, friendly staff.

Hotel room we were in needs some colour on walls, paintings would be nice. No elevator so we did alot of walking up and down the stairs. Be sure to ask for lower or second floor rooms. Be great to see the hotel spruced up.

Hotel Manager was amazing - super helpful. We both got sick while in Mexico and she arranged for a doctor to come see us in our hotel room - great service. Location was great too - just 1.5 blocks from the beach and close to lots of restaurants and grocery stores. The pool was very clean - maintained daily. Kitchen facilities were good - stove, full size fridge and microwave, pots/pans, dishes and cutlery were all sufficient for making meals in the suite.

We were on the fourth floor and had low water pressure and the only place we got hot water was in the shower - not in the kitchen, but it was fine

Rega Suites is central to everything (only two quick blocks to the beach). Everything you need for your stay is 5-10 minutes away by foot. Jessica at the front desk is very knowledgeable about Guayabitos. She's a friendly, attentive and helpful person, fluent in Spanish and English. She and Lionel resolved any issues we had very quickly. All suites face the clean pool and the pool area has tables, 10 loungers and many resin chairs along with washrooms. The top two floors have large private balconies, main floor suites have patios, second floor suites are larger, but no balcony. There was no trouble with water, showers were always hot. Dresser/drawers were large enough to hold all our clothing. Beds had comfortable pillow top mattresses and you can set your own maid schedule. There is a fruit tree on site with pickable carambola fruits. Rega Suites is not fancy but very clean and met all our demands. When you arrive, I'd suggest not going to their Calle Violetas address as that is the back door entrance. Go down the main street (Avenida Sol Nuevo). Rega Suites is more or less across the street from the Aurora Resort, adjacent to 4 small restaurants. This would be the first establishment we'd check out if we return to Guayabitos. We visited for 4 weeks in Jan/25.

The in-room safe is a little small but will hold your money, passports, phones, etc. An ipad will not fit. A negative issue was some nights there were stray dogs barking/fighting out front. You will hear roosters if that bothers you, but closing the bathroom door reduces their noise. One appalling aspect of Guayabitos in general is the amount of garbage lying around on the streets and beach. Rega Suites was very clean, though. There is no elevator.
