The Bay En-suite Room

Spacious room, easily accessible by public transport, great communications from the owner by email & text before-hand, generous supply of towels and complimentary tea & coffee.

The room was cold (there was a radiator in the bedroom but it struggled to heat the large room with a high ceiling and a large single-glazed bay window). The room has a damp problem which was evident, particularly around the window and in the corners. The un-heated en-suite bathroom smelled very musty and there was black mould on the walls and ceiling. The TV was linked to a small ariel in the window - only two channels available which broke up every time a vehicle drove past! It's noisy too - road noise from outside and being next to the front door other residents/guests coming and going weren't particularly quiet. Felt very much like a room in student digs - someone was doing all their washing so the machine was going almost constantly and it was piled up around the kitchen.

The use of the Kitchen was good it had what we needed to do a meal.

Comfy bed, generally clean room and toilet. Functioning kitchen, decent fridge/freezer space and washing machine/dryer provided. Responsive host. 30 mins walk from university.

Dirty duvet (triggered my asthma). Pots and pans are horrible and need renewing as they smoke easily and have burnt residue on them from previous use. Shower pressure is low. Washing machine handle was broken so difficult to use. And drying rack for utensils was too small for the whole house.

The room was spacious .
