Nordstay - Bright Studio in the heart of Helsinki self check-in

Very friendly staff, excellent location

The only thing is that windows can't be opened

The flat is not so warm, and it isn’t posible to heat it up because the heating is controlled for the whole building

Decent place to stay at very reasonable rates in the heart of Helsinki. Has got all the basics right. The owner, with whom I only communicated online, was very responsive and friendly.

The blanket covers had stains and needs cleaning/replacement.

Location was good and check-in was easy.

This property was advertised as having two beds (double + sofa) and a washing machine. After we had paid the full amount to secure our booking, we enquired about linen for the sofa bed only to be told that it was no longer in the flat. We needed two beds, so this was not really acceptable for us, but we negotiated a partial refund due to the inaccurate listing (it should be noted that we asked for this - no compensation of any kind was initially offered by the host). Upon arriving to the flat, we also discovered that the washing machine was broken - another listed amenity that was not available - and the flat overall was smaller, dingier, and dirtier than the pictures made it seem. We did not complete our stay, as the flat advertised was not the flat we arrived to. We asked the owner for a full refund due to the listing not being accurate, and were told that because we complained on the day of check in, it was too late (we contacted him five minutes after we checked in, and we could not possibly have made the request before this, as the discrepancy between the listing and the actual flat could only become apparent once we checked in). Communication with the owner, which had been relatively easy at the beginning, became extremely difficult when trying to resolve the issue. We would not have booked this property if it had been accurately advertised, and cannot recommend a stay here based on our experience.

Nice location close to central esplanade and railway station. Convenient apartment, easy check-in.

Very small bathroom

Compact studio with basic kitchen and equipments and host is responsive to messages. Check-in instruction is very clear and straight forward.

TV and WiFi were not working during our stay and this has been communicated with the host. We could not find the hair dryer in the flat. All guests were requested to remove rubbish and take off linens at the end of the stay.

- calm - good location

- dirty fitted sheet: someone’s hair on them, and some small particles - this is the first property which asks to take out all bed sheets, linen and towers and place them on the ground, and remove all garbage (see photo). Like what? Should I maybe also wash linen and floor before check out? - small and uncomfortable pillow - very slow wi-fi - just 10 Mbit/sec for download - wrong instructions for check-in where provided, had to spend some extra time and call the manager of the property - very laggy TV, barely usable
