Inca lodge - Amantani

Adolfo and his family were very nice to us. They cooked for us delicious and typical meals (not included in the price) and explained us the tradition and the history of the island and their community (Ocosuyu)

Be aware that, depending on the time of the year, the boat may not stop near Ocosuyu comunity. Payment only in cash

The view from the hostel is fantastic! The host are so nice to provide everything you need under limited resources. Wifi available.

The accommodation is located in the community on the opposite side respect where the boat from Puno arrives. That's permitted to be the only tourist in this side of the island during our stay. You have to consider 20 soles per person to reach the accommodation from the pier with a motorbike. Otherwise you need at least 1 hour and 30 minute of walk. The host family is amazing, Justa prepared delicious meals and joined us for a while for the walking up to pacha mama on the top of the island. Amantanì is magic, it is a rural island surrounded by the lake. Stunning scenario where to relax and take great pictures. The night sky from the house is unforgettable.

The hosts were friendly and provided a good home feeling to all guests. The food was also some of the best I had while traveling in puno (it was very healthy and delicious). Lastly, they went out of their way and helped me when I had lost something... overall, very happy to have stayed here!

On the page it is not explained how difficult/expensive it could be to get to this place. Moreover, there are hidden costs, the family offers you a delicious breakfast lunch and dinner, however there is no forewarning that these come at a (reasonable) cost. Overall definitely worth the stay, but would have liked a heads up and rundown on the logistical details and added costs.

The location is perfect. Stunning view from the upper porch. We had a remarkable time spending with the Host Adolfo and his family. The Host is truly a warm and cheerful person, he invited us to his every-day life which made our stay a genuine experience to remember. Highly recommend!

Staying with Justa and Adolfo is one of the highlights of our trip to Peru. Contact with a family cannot be more interesting!

I loved the experience of staying at Adolfo and Justa's place on a beautiful, tranquil island of Amantani. The host was friendly and nice and the house is clean and comfortable. The sunrise view over the lake from the room was breathtaking and Justa's cooking was delicious. I was also the first Thai guest here. It's about time there should be second and third and so on?

Beautiful view, kind, caring and helpful family, delicious home cooked meals, hot shower, and a lovely stay. The father walked with us up to the beautiful viewpoint. Lovely stay to see a bit of local life, highly recommend!

Nothing! Except you should know it might cost extra in time and money to get to that side of the island- when we went, the only boat was going to a different side of the island, so we had to pay an extra 50 soles to have the boat drop us off at the right dock- or you could take two motorbikes for the same price, but this sounded safer/more relaxed! From the right dock, it’s about 10 minutes’ walk uphill.
