Cleaning every 2days

They let us check in early, which was kind of them. Behind the hotel was this small pond where a large family of ducks and their ducklings were hanging out, along with some kildeer and red wing blackbirds. We enjoyed hanging out back there in the evenings as the weather was mild. The dishes were new and beautiful; the fridge was clean and nice. No stovetop, but there was a sign mentioning something about being able to ask for a cooking setup I believe? The room setup was nice and there was an optional curtain to divide between the bed area and the couch area. It’s close to everything (Kohl’s, Whole Foods, Walgreens, some great middle-eastern food places, Red Coat Tavern, Plum Market, Aldi, Marshall’s, Ulta, Starbucks, etc).

The soap was unwrapped upon arriving in the room. The room reeked of cigarettes, like someone had smoked in it and they tried to unsuccessfully eradicate the smell. I coughed a lot from it. The AC never got to quite the right temp - cycled on and off oddly and it was either hot and humid (and smoke smelling) or freezing (and still stinky). There was a large tick in the shower. The building is new, and there was already rust in the shower. There was no ice bucket. This place is pet friendly, so there were dogs barking like crazy in the other rooms and lots of feces on the minimal grounds. The pillows were flat and the bedding was scratchy; the towels were tiny and didn’t even wrap my full body. No conditioner provided - only shampoo and body wash.

Property was super clean and smelled great. Staff were super helpful and friendly.

It's not my favorite Home2 Suites. I didn't like it when I try and call I got sent to a corporate line, who were not friendly. I just wanted to ask if early check in (1hr) would be possible she only repeated the policy, we have stayed in Home2 suites before and they sometimes can but she wasn't even at the hotel nor did she even check. Next, when we went to check out, we had to go find the guy at the front desk. We found him outside on his phone. And I guess he was the only one. So it was a little annoying.Overall, it was not the best experience.

The breakfast was fair. I only ate yogurt as I have food allergies.

The bathroom wasn’t quite as clean as I would have hoped.
