George & Dragon Hotel

We loved the quirky rooms and booked for another night at the end of our stay in the UK. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable and provided a great selection of tea and coffee and bottles of water

There wasn’t anything we disliked

Breakfast wasn't offered, neither was an evening meal (there wasn't;t any food!!).

All of the above and then at 8pm the bar (note that there is no where else to sit) which is a public bar closed even to residents...

Not much to say to anything about property a part that it’s an old building and quirky.

Needs a good clean windows and a good around decorating.

There was plenty of parking and the pub side of the premises was OK.

The food on offer was very limited especially as I am Coeliac (Gluten free). We decided not to eat dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was not great as no one on duty in the morning spoke English. We had informed them that I would need a gluten free breakfast prior to our visit and received an email saying it would be no problem. It was a problem and I ended up eating just egg and bacon as I could not be sure of the other items on the plate. We had paid in advance for the breakfast and would certainly not have bothered had we known the situation. The room and bathroom was grubby although the bedding was clean. We where kept awake most of the night by the people above our room arguing. Very hard to recommend.

I did not like the poor hot water, or Luke warm n unknown way to rectify. Having a shower was not pleasant. The bath/ shower had no mat & was very slippery.

whole hotel is tired and shabby; room particularly so. Needs a thorough revamp. Despite secondary glazing on the bedroom window the road noise was excessive. Only one member of staff around - the barmaid. car park reached by narrow drive and full of potholes.
