Jolie Ville Hotel & Spa Kings Island Luxor

The location is amazing - well away from the chaos that is Luxor it is a peaceful & idyllic location beside the River Nile.

I have stayed here many times but the standards are slipping - even compared to the same time last year. One of the pool areas was dirty, food and drink left in the waste bins for the best part of a week attracting ants - the bar/ pool staff were not very happy at this pool - great everywhere else though. The rooms are getting tired and rundown - time for a revamp I think. Housekeeping is now lacking the attention to detail that did make it so special and that is the same for the restaurant staff - no tip no service is now very apparent especially for table drink service at mealtimes. Even the guest service staff no longer have that professional approach - taking no notice of any simple special requests i.e location - we asked for a room near to facilities due to mobility issues - we were allocated a room in the furthest away point in this vast resort. No big deal but it’s just another lack of attention that has changed.

I’ve booked a standard room, which wasn’t good at all, because of the view- that was to the neighbor house and they could look into my room. But they changed my room to a see view room luckily. But it wasn’t easy to arrange. Location was good, but far away from the center- 30 minutes by car. Breakfast was really good. Beach was beautiful, however they play party music everyday from morning til closing. I like party music on the weekends, but everyday it’s too much. There were also some renovations going on, so it wasn’t that relaxing all the time at the beach. And services on the beach- had to wait 1,5 hour for my food to arrive. They forgot my order, meanwhile everybody was served.

Receptionist was helpful, but they speak very bad English there. Receptionist also not that friendly, because they don’t really speak English. From 3 receptionist I only like one, because she was the only one who spoke good English. That was a lot of misunderstanding on my first day of arrival, because of my hotel room, and the language barrier. The hotel manager spoke very little English too. I didn’t had so much connection or friendly chats with anybody from the hotel.

From start to finish amazing. We were greeted by Lorna at the reception for our check in. She gave us every information we needed to know. We were even able to do early check in. She gave us her number to contact her anytime for booking the restaurants on property and we did. Even at the pool, service is amazing. Once they see you sit they bring you towels and ask if you want something to drink or eat. We also ordered room service, food super fresh and quick. They have a free shuttle that brings you to the city and it was on time, totally recommend to visit the city at night. For check out, Fares was really nice and fast, he asked us if everything went fine and called us a taxi for the airport. I totally recommend this hotel, outside of the chaos of the city but not too far away.

Only problem we had, i had sent them a message on booking.com to reserve a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. They confirmed the price, asked our flight number and confirmed everything. Once we arrived to the airport, there was no one with our names or any shuttle written jolie ville on it. We had to go through the hassle of asking for a taxi and negotiating the price which is what we didn’t want to do when booking the airport transportation.
