Central Buxton - Modern Cottage - Peak District

The location - convenient for opera house and other festival venues, and a Waitrose nearby Heating easy to adjust - it was cold for July Comfortable beds Kitchen fairly well equipped BUT no teapot.

The downstairs location of the bathroom (not mentioned in the website description of the property) requiring negotiation of steep stairs with only a partial handrail in order to access the toilet at night. Tricky for older folk with health issues. No bedside table in either bedroom - so nowhere to put alarm clock, glass of water, etc except on the floor. Nowhere to hang wet coats to dry. Hooks behind the bathroom and bedroom doors would be helpful. Hairdryer (listed in inventory) could not be found - and we did look everywhere.

Steep stairs and the downstairs bathroom.

Great location, easy walking distance to a few highlights around Buxton and a short drive to neighbouring towns. Parking wasn't an issue, was hesitant about on road parking. Comfy small property, great for the few days we spent there.

Had a little trouble accessing the property. The lock on the front door is a little bit of a nuisance, but not so much of an issue. Unfortunately couldn't open the back door with any of the provided keys, although host was helpful with a few messages letting them know the problem. Hairdryer was listed, but no where to be found. More my fault for relying on this being there.

The house is clean and comfortable and in an ideal location to explore Buxton and the surrounding area.

The only thing I did not like was the mattress on the bed, but this is entirely due to personal preference. I have had a memory foam for many years, and it's a shock going back to springs!

The heating worked but there was a draught through the front door .

Poor location, opposite builders merchant. Very steep stairs, a further step to the right to one bedroom and further step ahead to the second bedroom. With bathroom downstairs not good for young , elderly or those with mobility difficulties. Bedrooms too small for bedside tables. Seating in front room very small and uncomfortable. A take away coffee cup full of cigarette butts in the rear yard and gravel littered with cigarette butts. Door had been removed between kitchen and living area so not able to shut dogs in. Bedroom door would not shut. Bathroom floor dirty.

the location was excellent. Very close to the train station, shops and all that you would need.

Provision of more dustbins. It would be good to have one in the bathroom and upstairs in the bedrooms too.

Nice and cozy cottage walking distance to the center. Walking distance to grocery stores. Plenty of onstreet parking. Kitchen had everything we needed. Well documented check-in process answered any question we might have had.

A few well placed hooks for jackets and towels would make the place complete

Noisy location, neighbours were noisy until after midnight and early morning, opposite a builders yard so very busy in the early morning.
