Very welcoming on arrival. All staff were very friendly.

The room was lovely, but the view of all the laundry was disappointing. Breakfast was good, but it would have been good to have raisins, seeds, prunes, etc to go with cereal.

Breakfast was served cold despite us being the only customers in the restaurant. Staff rude and confrontational. We will not eat here again

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming, smiled, said welcome, how was your journey, etc, she was very enthusiastic so a great start. She even had my request for a quiet room taken care of. Room was large with plenty of seating. It had everything you needed, kettle, tea bags, coffee, including decaf. There was a fan, separate, heater, hair dryer and soaps in the bathroom.

The room initially looked very clean however they have not cleaned the outside windows for ages and being near a hedge lots of spiders have built cobwebs and they looked messy. This meant that there was a lot of cobwebs and spiders in the room as they had attached themselves to the window pelmet and curtains and these had not been cleaned. All it needed was a hover over them. I removed the cobwebs myself along with several spiders. Restaurant for breakfast was a bit dated, tables needed a good varnish. Cooked breakfast was ok but continental was very basic. Only 1 type of milk out which was semi skimmed. Had to ask for gluten free bread most places have it out these days. Had to ask for decaf coffee and tea if you needed it which was strange as it was available in the room. When we checked out there was a different person on reception who was the opposite of the lady who checked us in. There was no smile, no how was your stay, have a good journey etc, just nothing, all she did was take the key card off us. Having travelled extensively your impression of somewhere is usually the last person you see and mine was very poor. I would recommend this as somewhere to stop over for 1 night but that would be it.
