"Not really dog friendly for access and potty"

5.0

The location was great for Poole centre and the beaches. The yacht had a lovely outlook over the bay. Hot tub was lovely. I didn’t get the chance to really use the facilities much as I didn’t stay due to the access issues for me and my dog.

I had booked 2 nights but didn’t end up staying the night. There were access issues getting to and from and onto and off the yacht. The photos online of the steps to the yacht are a little misleading as the current steps do not reach the deck. There is a gap of probably around a foot and a half between the top of the steps and the deck. I was trying to get myself (recovering from ankle injury) and my dog onboard and struggled to left him up that far, even though he’s a small dog. Although the accommodation says it is dog friendly I would not advise bringing a dog. There is also a very long walk to the nearest grass for dog potty - I’d say around 250-300m. Not great if you have to get on and off the yacht every couple of hours. That’s why I didn’t stay. I ended up having a major panic attack at not knowing what to do for the best and just ended up leaving. I found the bedrooms on the yacht a bit dark, mattress seemed comfortable but I couldn’t get on the bed as it was so high, and I’m only short. All in all I was disappointed to not be able to enjoy my stay but the owner was understanding after I contacted him.

Comfortable beds, stunning location, and unique experience

The time was spoilt by the difficulty in getting on and off the yacht. The photos showed very different steps which were taken into consideration for both myself and the dog before booking. However the steps supplied were not high enough and the gap between them and the yacht was too wide and too high. In the high winds of one day, it took over 10 minutes to disembark the traumatised dog. Without my son and daughter I would not have been able to get on and off at all.

"Enjoyable stay"

6.0

The boat is situated in a quiet spot at the end of the marina. The boat definitely had some character and charm with very comfortable large bed and bedroom. The hot tub was also a really nice addition.

The boat is a little tired and lacking in some TLC, which is a shame as it really could be quite stunning. There was no plug in the kitchen sink, and an empty bottle of washing up liquid next to it with a bunch of dead daffodils. There was also no soap in the soap dispensers in the bathroom which I feel is a little lacking. Just a few small changes could make a big difference. Get rid of all the plastic flowers that just look cheap and maybe invest in a few more cooking utensils. Also, the steps up to the boat are really quite tricky. Anyone with children or any sort of fitness or knee issues would really struggle with this. The steps that are actually there are no steps that are shown in the photos on the website.

"Quirky and unusual"

Tremendous location. Quiet and beautiful. Spacious and characterful.

It would have been good to have a couple of coffee pods/tea bags and shower gel.
