2-Bed Bungalow Retreat, Welcombe

Das Haus liegt in einer kleinen Anlage und war anfangs nicht ganz leicht zu finden. Man muss auf den Parkplatz des daneben liegenden Pubs fahren, dahinter kommt ein weiterer Parkplatz, auf dem man sein Auto abstellen kann (Stellplatz Nr. 7).. Dort befindet sich auch der Zugang zu der Anlage. Die Lage war toll - es war absolut ruhig, unsere Kinder konnten vor dem Haus auf der Wiese spielen. Ein fantastischer, nicht überfüllte Strand ist in Laufnähe (30 Minuten) gelegen. Allerdings gibt es bis auf den Pub in der Nähe keine Infrastruktur, man braucht zum Einkaufen etc. auf jeden Fall ein Auto. Das Haus selbst war super gemütlich und toll ausgestattet, mit allem was man sich wünschen kann - Waschmaschine, Trockner, Spülmaschine, alles da. Die Gastgeber hatten uns sogar eine kleine Auswahl an Tee, Kaffee und Marmelade bereitgestellt. Wir haben uns gleich total wohl gefühlt und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Nur ein Hinweis: Die Anlage besteht aus acht Unterkünften, viele Urlauber hatten ihre Hunde dabei. Einmal fanden wir einen großen Hundehaufen direkt vor unserer Tür, das war aber zum Glück eine Ausnahme (und hat natürlich nichts mit der Bewertung der Unterkunft zu tun). Grundsätzlich ist es sicher nicht verkehrt, eine gewisse Sympathie für Hunde zu haben (das gilt allerdings für ganz Devon und Cornwall).

Lovely location. Very peaceful. Well equipped. I’ve shower and comfy beds.

Could have been a little cleaner. Quite a bit of dust on the sides and mirrors. Could do with a little updating too.

Lack of Cleanliness - fridge, cupboards, cutlery dirty, had to clean when we arrived Twin bedroom very damp,

Fantastic facilities, great to have a selection of jam/biscuits/milk. Comfy double bed, good shower. Dishwasher was a fantastic bonus

Wasn't sure where to park when arrived, another resident told us we were in her space. Would have been helpful to have Robins nest on the cone or info on the confirmation booking info. Clearer info on parking for the bungalow in general, it wasn’t clear it was effectively behind the pub, we followed the road down and quickly realised the tiny narrow lane was not the right place. Some cobwebs around the bungalow. Wasn’t keen on the ornaments, little creepy, felt precarious especially with a small child. Double bed was comfy but creaky, had to use ear plugs to sleep as it was loud. Internet was incredibly slow and wouldn't work on the TV.

The accommodation was self-catering. Location was isolations and expensive to get to without personal transport. Had the level of isolation made clear I wouldn't have selected this location . Information was inaccurate , the lack of basic community shop or amenities made my holiday difficult to access any amenities . No public transport, taxis were expensive and Internet was problematic. Found the bathroom problematic for someone with mobility issues. It was cramp. Furniture lack support and to low forsomeone with mobility issues. Mattress was dead . Better Information wouldhave informed me of the inapproiateness of the location.

Lack of basic home comforts for some one with mobility issues. Poor quality cooking pans and the coin meter was not appreciated. Infor about the location etc should reflect its inaccessibility and high cost of transport if one doesn't have a vehicle. A vehicle is absolutely essential and access to local shops.
