"Tranquille rural location."

9.0

A large cosy holiday house in a tranquille location on a kind of a holiday estate with about 10-15 similar houses. Well equipped kitchen and a bathroom in a higher standard that similar holiday properties. All clean, well maintained, garden furniture in front of the house. You can clearly see true attention to details. Good quality wifi. There is a fantastic pub next door, however relax, the entry to the pub and their car park is from other side, therefore, you cannot hear any noises. Otherwise, it is a totally rural area. The sea with a mainly pebble/rocky beach (some sand at low tide) below a massive cliff is just two miles away, although a very narrow road leads to it. There is also a waterfall literally on the beach and many walking routes. There is an electricity meter that accepts only £1 coins, however, we paid like 1 pound per day - not a big deal. My wife and I often take long weekend breaks to see as much of UK as possible while we live here and it was one of our favorite ones.

That place was absolutely awesome. The only thing that I could call a small drawback was the clicking sound from some electric box in the twin room at night - a small issue for me, most people would probably never hear it, however, it was just a tiny think that by no means would spoil my holiday.

The surroundings was great, accommodation was more than we expected, everything you need plus lovely tea, coffee jams and biscuits. Dogs loved the freedom to run around.

Beds, couldn't stretch out because of bed ends

"Perfect base, would definitely stay again."

10.0

The cottage had everything we needed - the owners have great attention to detail. The bed and duvet were super comfy. It was great value for money for the 3 nights we stayed. The pub next door was lovely too. We visited Bude and some stunning local hikes - the scenery was impressive.

"A Great Little Home in a Peaceful Place"

8.0

I liked that the property had everything needed for a week's stay. It was comfortable and peaceful.

There were a few things that can improve. Having to constantly add 1 pound coins for the electricity (you don't pay but just have to keep adding the same coin). There was a lot of white fluff under the bed in the main room. Some fluff in the dryer and on it. These are minimal but worth a mention. The biggest issue was the cold. It has storage heaters, but these are not the best. I felt very cold in the mornings, and the air heater does not heat the property well by itself. Naturally, this would not be an issue for April to November, but as I have stayed at many cottages, they had no issues as they had controlled central heating. I think it might be a little cramped if the wife and kids came.

Loved the location - lovely to be 2 miles of fthe main road. proper dark skies. The accomodation was well set up for visitors. It was clean and well kept.

There were two issues - both quite small. We could not find where to put our black bag of rubbish - the main large bin was locked adn there wasn't one round the back (only for dog waste) The second was that there was only feather pillows in the chalet. (I am allergic to feathers) It would be nice to have some non feather ones for folk that can't or don't get on with them.
