The Bird in Hand

The location is good as only a short walk along the canal to town centre

The pub closed at 9pm and maybe should have looked deeper at the advert as I thought we could pay for breakfast separately but was not offered that option on checking in and by the time I realised it was too late to order for the morning 🤦‍♂️

We had a great stay , and we enjoyed meeting new faces around the area.

Location right by the canal and wildlife. Kitchenette for flats to share. Local takeaway menus at hand if needed. Radiator on. Very clean

Great location by the canal with a pleasant 15mins walk along canal into town. There's no meals in the evening but the Black star which was recommended by the lady behind the bar was good for food and only a short walk along the canal. The full English breakfast at the bird in the hand was amazing. Big plate full of well cooked and presented food, I didn't need any lunch, which was ok as we had a long drive home. Staff pleasant. Down to earth, friendly and helpful. Friday afternoon I had a couple of beers after my walk and the locals started to arrive. Mostly having a pint after work, so some work clothes, they were no problem, friendly and great to see friends getting together after a hard weeks graft. Room was clean and bright, bed was comfortable. Would definitely go again.

Not a dislike, but people uneasy on their feet might feel uneasy climbing the outside metal steps to the rooms.

Woke up in the morning went to make a cup of tea and inside the kettle had limescale so was not happy

Fantastic location and the room had everything we needed for our stay.
