The Bird in Hand

Couldn't fault the welcoming, pleasant reception when entering premises. A lovely, bubbly young lady, mentioned to us that she was at the helm for a week, whilst her mom was away. A lovely pub, with lots of history, and a gorgeous location. Room was ideal. Breakfast wonderful. We have booked to stay in December.

Pub staff and the locals were very friendly . Breakfast in the morning was great . Rooms were very clean .

Dont serve evening meals but you can get takeaways and eat in the upstairs kitchen .. I could feel the springs in the mattress ? Maybevit was too soft but thats my preference

Value for money, great setting along a beautiful canal and very quiet definitely coming back. Walking distance to the town and a lovely pub itself plus friendly staff.

Location was great, reception was good landlady was very helpful, double bed was 2 singles pushed together, room was fine for one night.

The room could do with an update, plug sockets were in strange positions, had to move the kettle to the bedside table to boil, shower was a bit naff, and shower cubicle could do with a refresh. Milk for tea was kept in a fridge in the hallway?
