Cloisters Walk with parking

The heavy doors throughout the apartment! They were spring loaded and it is difficult to control closing without making loud bangs. Very annoying when getting up in the middle of the night trying not to disturb others. The kitchen door is rediculous - you can only have one hand free because you need to physically pull the handle down to open while using the body to push the door open while stopping it with the foot! It is like performing an acrobat act while trying not to make loud banging. Also the original listing did not mention that there are two flights of stairs to flat #9 - We only found that out on the last email for arrival instructions. Unfortunately, we had someone who couldn't comfortably walking up the stairs.

Comms with the agent was prompt and efficient. We were given clear instructions on obtaining the keys to the property. The apartment is well appointed and secure. There is a nicely kept communal garden which can be accessed. Two bedrooms of good size with plenty of wardrobe space, and comfortable beds. A small bathroom had a walk-in shower with good hot water. There was also an allocated parking space, but as we travelled by train didn't need it. Easy walking distance to Cathedral and central parts of York. Easy to use 'Uber' system operating in York.

Nearly all doors in the apartment (and the whole block) are Fire Doors which is good for safety but also restrictive. Each door closes behind you as you go in /out of rooms in the apartment. Quite often heard other people opening and closing doors. Combined lounge and dining area - impossible to use the dining table as very tight to the L-shaped sofa.

The flat was in a perfect location to get into York city Centre, about a 5 minute walk. We parked our car in the secured car park when we arrived and we didn't need to go out or move it until the day we left a week later. Accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed, from toilet paper, washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, washing machine, clothes dryer etc a real home from home.

A couple of electric fans in the flat would of been ideal as the weather was brilliant but very very hot and the flat was boiling so a couple of fans would of been great.

Everything, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Excellent location, would definitely recommend.

Closeness to city

The overall apartment was ideal and it's location to the town centre was fantsstic. A further added benefit was the secure parking.
