Authentic Desert Camp - Al Wasil

One of the best stays i had in my life. We came as guest but left as friends. I can highly recommend this place!! I would recommend to stay for two nights.

Nice location amongst sand dunes. Nice sunset. Only 10 min from main road. Easily accessible by any 4x4. Danced nicely celebrating Bidoun traditions.

Host Syed was downright rude. It felt they have bias towards western tourists as they were treated very well while we were ignored summarily. Trigger was when we refused to buy any packages like dune bashing or camel ride etc which they pushed in our face right from arrival for next hour. Very money minded. Electricity and water were insufficient giving “fully authentic experience”.

Great!! It really felt like an authentic stay in the desert, we traveled the world a lot and that was one of the most special places. Everyone at the camp was really nice. The tents are clean and comfortable. Private little bathroom attached. Food was very good. Also did the dune bashing tour for sunset which was amazing. Absolutely recommend if you want an authentic desert experience, dont expect luxury or special amenities, but still very clean and comfortable tents.

Spending a night in the Omani desert sounds like an unforgettable experience. From the comfort of the tents and excellent facilities to the unique atmosphere of the camp, everything seems designed for a perfect getaway. The 4x4 ride through the dunes and the breathtaking sunset added a touch of adventure and magic. The absolute silence of the desert at night made this escape even more special.

Noncommittal staff. Breakfast could be better. Location OK but proximity of town impeded observation of stars. There are more isolated camps further south.

If you want an authentic experience, then this Camp is a really good choise. Well located between the dunes, quiet and not so big - 7 tents. Beautifully decorated. Good Omani food for both evening and morning. Camel ride at sunrise was absolutely fantastic -20omr Per Person for 1 hour. Said and his brother made us all feel extremely welcome, they were very attentive. They provided good entertainment and good conversation. You sense that the desert means something to them. Thank you for for the experience .🤩

We became bogged in the sand on the way and Saeed was very helpful in assiting us to get to the camp. He and his brother and cousin were great hosts and we had a lovely time. I would recommend this experinece.

Very beautiful camp, Saeed made our stay truly unforgettable. The pick-up at the agreed place went without any problems, the tents are very nice. The jeep trip to the sunset and sand dunes was amazing. In the evening we had a traditional Arabic dinner and a nice sitting by the fire. You can also book a camel ride. Saeed really cares about the comfort and satisfaction of his guests, we can highly recommend it. Also suitable for children, my ten-year-old son really enjoyed it.
