Sakti Hostal B&B

The host is very nice. The hostel is charming. The room was very clean and the sheets even smelled good. There were lamps on both sides of the bed for reading and outlets too. The water in the shower was very hot, unlike the experience of some of the other reviewers. It was quiet. The breakfast was delicious: yogurt with fruit and a breakfast panini, although I would have preferred fresh coffee instead of instant.

You cannot drink the tap water in Quito, and apparently it's not a good idea to even use it for brushing your teeth. However, no water was provided. A carafe of filtered water in the room would have been welcome. It would be helpful to have a small refrigerator in the room. The room was quite chilly and there was no heater. I know it's common in South America, but there was no hot water tap on the sink.

I had to write a review to ensure they have another GLOWING review! This place is as good as everyone says. The owners are absolutely SO nice, accommodating, generous, and helpful to guests. Nothing but EXCELLENT things to say. Wish them the best. So happy to support them. Go stay here. Just wonderful. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

Extrem freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Trotz verspäteter Ankunft wurde auf mich gewartet, ich konnte meinen Koffer vorher drei Tage lagern und das Zimmer nach Check-out weiterhin bis zur Abholung nutzen, da es nach mir nicht neu gebucht war, was ich als sehr großzügig empfand. Das vegetarische Frühstück wird frisch und individuell zubereitet – außergewöhnlich lecker und nahrhaft. Kommunikation war jederzeit unkompliziert. Sobald man das Tor hinter sich geschlossen hat, ist man in einer kleinen Oase im Stadtdschungel angekommen. Abends und nachts ist die Gegend um die Unterkunft etwas dubios, was sich aber dank günstiger und sicherer Uber-Verbindungen problemlos ausgleichen lässt.

The owners were very nice people, they gave us the best information, the place is very cozy and nicely designed, the position is very central to everything and we felt safe. They have laundry service for few dollars, very convenient! Recommended

Showers did not have hot water and the WiFi wasn't strong enough in our room

This place felt life a sanctuary in the city and was run by a very kind couple. The breakfast was super generous and the room was very comfortable.

As a female single traveller I was concerned about the safety of the location. If you are being picked up from the hostal it is great, but I would not recommend walking by yourself after dark. It is the location that has reduced my rating from excellent to good.
