Peaceful stay it gives one an opportunity to breathe and rewind,do some introspection

On the the day of checking in I couldn’t find the admin girl until 6pm.Nothing was communicated regarding our stay before the date and even on the day of our stay.It was just unprofessional

The white house was great, the location and the mountains were exceptional. The host Marcus/ Max was very friendly. The pool area was great too. The room essentials were great. Nice bachelor apartment.

The pillows were not comfortable. The blankets and bathroom maths were not that clean 🫤. The wifi connection was a bit poor

The water wasn’t exactly hot (somewhere between cold and lukewarm),and I like my showers hot.🥲

Unfortunately, our stay at Makgobelo Lodge was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. We made a booking for two nights, but due to the conditions, we were forced to check out early. The property management offered a refund for only one night, which was the night we were checking out, despite the fact that the issues affected the quality and comfort of the night we had already spent at the lodge. Upon arrival, several essential amenities were not working, including the Wi-Fi and hot water. The geyser issue turned out to be serious enough that it required a full replacement, meaning there was no hot water for the duration of our stay. We were even forced to use another unit to try and bathe, which also had water pressure issues. The room itself was not properly maintained or cleaned. There was visible dust throughout the room, the toilet did not appear properly cleaned, and the curtains and bedding had stains. The blankets did not smell fresh, and the towels were worn and rough. Kitchen appliances and utensils were also in poor condition — the stove had grease on it, the pots were dirty with burn marks, and the kettle had visible residue inside. More concerning, my partner woke up with bites, and I was itchy throughout the night, which made sleeping extremely uncomfortable. Combined with the dusty environment, this significantly affected my well-being, as I suffer from allergies. Communication with management was slow initially, and although staff were eventually sent, the proposed solution was mainly cleaning, which did not address the core issues, particularly the bed and hot water situation. We were ultimately advised to check out early, with only a partial refund offered. Overall, the accommodation did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, or functionality, and the experience fell far below what we paid for. I would not recommend this lodge unless significant improvements are made in maintenance, hygiene, and guest care.
