Casa Muuch Holbox - Solo Adultos

After an incredible journey through the Yucatán, we wanted to end on a high note in Holbox and booked a three-night stay at Casa Muuch. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations. First, the outdoor space and beach shown in the photos no longer exist, as the area is now submerged by the sea. Guests are left with no choice but to use the overcrowded partner beach club next to the hotel. The hotel is sandwiched between two beach clubs , both playing loud music daily. Additionally, ongoing construction work on the adjacent building part of the same structure as Casa Muuch adds to the noise. To make matters worse, we had no running water for several days, meaning no showers and no way to flush the toilets. The tense atmosphere among other guests was palpable, and the manager’s communication was extremely poor, as she struggled to justify the various shortcomings. At first, she offered a partial refund, but once we had left, she only proposed compensation for half of our last night’s stay. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and to be completely honest, this hotel is best avoided.

I don’t ever write reviews but I felt compelled to for anyone considering booking this hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE. There was no running water or electricity. You will also hear nonstop drilling and hammering from 8am to 9pm. No refund offered at all.

The staff was Amazing, they answer all the request really quickly. The place is Amazing with Ocean View suites and a delicious breakfast included with prívate chef. Be back for sure

Booked and paid upfront in May 2024 this for a special Birthday Celebration. Arrived in February 2025 and didn't recognise the place to the pictures. The sea was up to the building so no beach area at all , but more importantly a MAJOR EXTENSION was in progress doubling the size of the property with a a lot of workers and noise! . Noise levels were ridiculous , the host Lucia was apologetic however we were not prepared to stay here. We were very upset the owner / manager hadn't contacted us to inform us of the building work to give us choices. We booked another property at our own expense and when we received a refund 48 hours later it was less 20% due to the exchange rate from last May. After several communications with Roderigo ( the owner) he bluntly refused to give us our full GB sterling refund and claimed he'd done all he could. Not very impressed as a businessman , not only was he not transparent about the work being carried , he failed to give the full refund. ( having held our money for 9 months) I am very hesitant to recommend this place to anyone !!!!!

Having no hot water for showering was quite a surprise and not be told about it in advance was not proper. Beach was quite small and covered in sea grass, most properties rake it away

Building work right next door from 7am-9pm making it impossible to sleep / rest. Room very small and no mirror. No door on shower so humidity goes straight to the room. If we'd have know before we booked we wouldn't of waisted 36 hours of our time on holbox unpacking and repacking between hotels. Team were very helpful however and gave us a refund for the remaining nights - not their fault their is building work however think it should be advised to guests before they arrive

Put simply - Casa Muuch was an exceptional experience. I rarely give 10/10 but the unique concept of ‘home away from home’ really did work its charm. Lucia, the house host, was simply fantastic. She went above and beyond to assist me where she could, and even upgraded me to the ocean view room when the space was available. All the staff working there was friendly and kept smiles on their faces (somewhat rare in the world we live in). The breakfasts in the morning were made carefully by two chefs who clearly know what they’re doing. The Mexican style omelette was an absolute killer. The property had building works next door, but Lucia and the team did what they could to accommodate something out of their control. I originally intended on staying for 2 nights but extended to 5 nights because of how great the space was, and how friendly Lucia is. I will be sure to recommend this to anyone visiting Holbox…

The breakfast was really good, their chefs are brilliant!

The water pressure was intermittent which was a bit frustrating but that was an island problem. They are building another resort next door and it is a bit noisy and messy but as long as you go knowing this it isnt really a problem unless you want to sleep during the day...

The location is amazing, but for the price we paid not sure we would return. There was no running water at times which is a bummer when you're in the ocean all day. Beds were okay, and towels are limited

There was literally no running water for days and selective times. Meaning when I wanted to wash my hair, it was a 50/50 chance or to shower after a great beach day
