Bed On The Beach

Best hostel in the entire world. I lost my key and crashed my motor-bike, and they didn’t charge me anything. The staff were fantastic and it was a really fun and social hostel. If I could stay here for the rest of my life, I would.

It was awesome

I reached Bed on the Beach very tired from entire day’s travelling from Nusa Penida. But the hostel staff made sure everything I asked for was there. They did not have the card machine yet, but they told me I could pay the next day when I could withdraw cash from the ATM. That was very thoughtful. This hostel is very close to Mandalika International Circuit and I plan to go there again next year. My commute to Moto GP race was smooth as the hostel ensured I could rent a bike for as much as 70k IDR a day. I left the place wanting to extend but the booking was full.

Quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable and room had plenty of space. A/C worked well. Had universal socket for each bed. Friendly staff

Shower did not drain well. So it would flood the floor. Only one sink. They probably could have designed the bathroom better.

Hostel is brand new! All the facilities are top notch and the beds are larger than your normal single. Location is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the view, but as noted a bit isolated from town and down a rougher road. No issues on a scooter though. Everyone is friendly and social but not a crazy party hostel.

The view is beautiful and the dorm is spacious.

The pictures look beautiful, but these are quite misleading. The bathroom stank and was dirty. The bathroom was made out of plastic doors, which did not close properly. The bins with dirty toilet paper also were also not emptied frequently enough. Also not enough hooks to hang your clothes or towel in the shower. The shower was cold and hardly any water came out. People left all their stuff and food around, it was a mess. The staff did not do anything about it. They were just hanging around. Breakfast was also not good considering the price, options were eggs or pancakes. They could also not arrange take away breakfast if you would have to leave early. The price-quality was terrible, I paid €25 per night. There were no comfortable chairs. The paint on the stools around the tables came off and there was rust underneath, resulting in destroyed shorts. Lastly, the pool was dirty and very hot when I arrived (imagine the bacteria in the pool with these temperatures). After some complaints, a lot of chemicals were thrown into the pool, which resulted in green destroyed bikinis and towels. The pool actually needs to be drained and cleaned properly. Just waiting until somebody gets really ill. Imagine how this place is going to look like shortly, as this has just opened its doors.

The dorm rooms are spacious but that's about all..

Do not be deceived by the pictures of this property. First of all the location is awful, I would strongly advise not staying here unless you drive a scooter. The hostel is on a hill with a really windy road up - before this you have to trek down a dirt road for about 6-7 minutes on foot, at night there are no lights and a lot of territorial dogs roaming free - not a fun experience when you're alone. The bathrooms stank, there are no windows and very little ventilation and on top of that the bins with dirty toilet roll aren't emptied anywhere near enough considering it's 12 people in a room. The sliding doors at the entrance to the dorms have gaps and are also constantly left open meaning hot air gets in all the time and the room can be really hot at night. I was right at the door so this was made worse for me, perhaps not as noticeable in other beds but a lot of us noted the heat. DO NOT swim in the pool - the water literally turned my swimsuit and skin green, loads of other people there at the same time also had this issue and the staff essentially just kept putting chemicals into the pool instead of properly draining and cleaning it. There are quite a lot of staff here and no one is really doing anything honestly. Such a shame because the view over the beach is lovely but the trek up to the hostel and the lack of hygiene really makes this place a no go.

Very nice and clean hostel, recently opened up so everything is new. The staff is amazing, breakfast included and tastes really good.

A bit far from the center on a side street that is not paved and has no public illumination in some portions, so recommend to have a scooter when coming back in the night to the hostel, as there are few stay dogs in the area.

Staff is so helpful and friendly. Location is quiet as it is a little bit outside [10 minute walk to town]. View is absolutely amazing, especially while sunrise. Everything is quite new. Family dinner was so nice.

Hostel is still in the making, so they just start with activities, but this will develop fast. You should have a scooter like everywhere in Lombok. Can be rented in Hostel.
