LA CASA DI MARIO

Mario was an amazing host, he went well above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The property has a modern interior. It's in a very quant hill side village.

Extremely clean and well equipped home. All modern and neat. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Owner of the apartment informed us well about parking and arriving to the place. Could have stayed longer, but only had a one night stay.

Apartment could have been closer to the lake Como. It was must to have a car to go to town and back.

This is a very cute two-floor apartment in an old village building. It was easy access with clear instructions and keys in a coded lock. There is a main bathroom downstairs by the kitchen but also an en-suite toilet and basin upstairs. It has a lovely kitchen with big table etc and a log burner which would be really cosy in winter. The spiral staircase is a bit awkward but there is an alternative set of regular stairs from the front door directly to the upstairs so that is fine. It’s a long windy steep climb from the town up to the apartment…but there is a good bus service for a couple of euros. There is a nice restaurant/bar/breakfast place just a few minutes walk away with phenomenal views. We didn’t meet the owner but he was very engaged messaging to make sure everything was ok.

The only minor problem was the lack of washing machine. We were hiking so really needed to wash some clothes. However there is a clothes hanger if you hand wash. I don’t know if there is another option, we didn’t discuss it with the owner. Being tucked away in a hilltop village there was no view of the lake.

LA CASA DI MARIO is located in a lovely area near Varenna with stunning views over Lake Como. Its has all the necessary amenities. Mario was very friendly and gave clear instructions for our self check in and gave good recommendations for local public transport and food.

To improve it would be very useful to have WiFi access for guests.

Owner very helpful House clean and well eqipped

Location

We were met at the station by the owner who took us to the property. He then took us shopping and even booked a reataurant for our dinner. Apartment was well equipped and clean with everything we needed. There is a local contact available if necessary

Apartment is high above Varrena and you need to arrange everything around the bus timetable or else take a steep path up the hill.

Our time at this place was very good. The Host was absolutely THE BEST- very kind and helpful. Contact with him was also perfect. The flat has everything you need - even antimosquito spray, badminton equipment or full kitchen stuff. Don’t worry about localisation, it looks far and high but there is a free night bus and it stopes 50m from the apartment

Mario’s place was very clean, cozy and location was great for our short visit - its located on a very quite street, we had a parking space, the house is very close to Varenna and the balcony is very inviting. Mario greeted us upon arrival, gave us house tour and also provided some food / activities recommendations. It was a pleasure staying in his house.

The only downside is there were no Wi-Fi connection - however, I personally didn’t suffer from if and was glad kids were off their phones :-) So all in all, it was a plus!

This is a beautiful house from the 16th century with a very precise and nice, modern inside design. It was very comfortable to be there. And it has a very unique athmosphere. The owner is very gentle and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there!
