Ivy on Sea Villa

We stayed as a family with 6 adults and 2 older children. It was okay for a one night stay - the rooms and beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for us. The property was clean and communication with the owner was good. Our adult children said it reminded them of their student accommodation.

There was no shared space for us to sit together - not a problem for our one night stay but would not return for a longer stay. The hot water was not on in the morning and had to be turned on. The downstairs shower had two settings - cold or scalding hot. The ensuite shower in the upstairs room ws also unpredictable. The threshold to the kitchen was loose and several of us tripped over it. We also weren't sure what to make of the twoRing cameras in the kitchen and by the front door - never had that before...

The bedrooms were acceptable.

The overall standard was poor. Couldn't access one of the rooms, battery in keylock was low. Called the owner and changed the battery. However, we pointed out to him the kitchen was unclean and not fully equiped with utensils and pans etc. and the freezer was completely frozen, door wouldn't close.

No hot water in the on-suite bedroom bathroom upstairs,my son managed to find that the boiler had tripped out in the cupboard downstairs the following morning,also only three pillows on bed in the same room(needs four)

It was cosy and homely and owner was responsive to any problems

Parking was an issue

We liked the price. The shower was good.

No spoons to make tea or coffee none to be found in the kitchen either. Although our room was okay the rest of the house had a rancid smell. The shower screen had a fair bit of excess limescale. There was no live tv or any kind of streaming provided we had to screen mirror our phones to watch programmes. The so called deluxe double was two single beds pushed together kept falling down the gap all night. Parking wasn't as advertised

The is nice and clean, and it's very convenient for someone travelling by public transport as its close to town and also close to bus and train station. Its a lovely place I'll definitely come again.
