WARNING: initially, I ignored previous negative reviews (which pointed out the impossibility of contacting the host and their aggressive behavior), considering them exaggerations or isolated cases (see attached photos). Unfortunately, I experienced firsthand that they are perfectly true! (please have a look on them for confirmation) Everything might be fine if nothing unexpected happens, but if unforeseen events do arise, you will likely face a similar situation (for more, see below) and I hope this review helps you be prepared and encourages you not to let yourselves be intimidated.

The problems started even before the stay, when the host completely ignored my question regarding the possibility of a late check-out (see attached photo). Later, although the reservation was non-refundable (327 RON), I notified the property as soon as a medical urgency arose (see attached photo), well before the check-in time started. Given this objective reason, I asked the host if a partial refund was possible, fully understanding their policy and without expecting to recover the entire amount. Instead of receiving an answer (even a "no" would have been fine), we were completely ignored for weeks (see attached photos). The owner did not respond to calls, messages, or official requests sent through Booking.com support (done during the dates of our stay!). Seeing that we were being ignored, I was forced to send a firmer message on the platform, strictly to push for a final clarification. The host replied shortly on the chat that it was a "misunderstanding" (just to appear diplomatic in the system), but called me immediately after and had a shocking reaction. Without letting me speak, he started insulting me, saying that "only a psychopath" would dare to make such a "passive-aggressive" request "for just 300 RON". Moreover, he threatened me with a lawyer if I resorted to negative reviews/complaints. Rereading the first automated message received from the host on the platform (see attached screenshots), I understood that this is their pattern: guests are threatened with reviews being "challenged externally" and with "symmetrical reviews" (retaliation) and pressured to leave only maximum ratings. A non-refundable policy does not justify a total lack of communication, verbal abuse, and blackmail, so I am writing this review because I do not consider it normal to let myself be intimidated over a factual review (see photos for proof).
