Shrimp Cottage - 3 bed renovated cottage with stunning sea views

Shrimp Cottage is in a beautiful and special location in Staithes. The cottage itself is cosy, full of character and nicely decorated. Communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay — they were very responsive, friendly and helpful whenever we contacted them, which we really appreciated.

When we arrived, the level of cleanliness in some areas of the cottage did not fully match our expectations given the very high reviews. After we mentioned this during our stay, the host responded quickly and arranged for additional cleaning, which we appreciated. Overall we still enjoyed the location and atmosphere of the cottage. We are sharing this feedback simply to give future guests a balanced impression of our experience.

Cottage was situated in a beautiful little spot on north Yorks coast. Space in cottage was good and decorated nicely.

Log burner being out of action, the wood lice being found in single bed, lack of apology or empathy from the owner not caring that a premium had been paid for a log burner experience in February for a special birthday.

The location was fantastic

Great location and the views from the top of property overlooking the sea is awesome.

Difficult to find in the dark and awkward to unlock the combination lock. Be aware that you cannot drive to drop off and pick up if its icy or snows. Parking in Top car park is 48hrs max ao needs reviewing, this can be done through the app and walking to the cottage takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

Loved the cottage, contained everything we needed. Was a real home from home within a gorgeous area. Loved the fire and cosy feel.

Sofa uncomfortable and not very clean

The cottage was so cosy, nicely decorated and comfortable. You could walk to the harbour in seconds and up to the cliff walk in minutes. I loved the views from the bedrooms and … everything!!

Driving to the property is understandably tricky with Staithes not being designed for cars but that’s no reason to avoid it - all worth it. You can pay for the car park at the top with your bank card and that worked well. Maybe some more glasses in the house would have been handy but otherwise very well equipped; the crockery was lovely and made many lovely cups of tea.
