Size

Disappointing stay due to poor hygiene and noise. Found dried blood stains on the sheets in both bedrooms—host admitted they were dirty but claimed stains were ‘permanent.’ I wiped some off easily with a wipe, so it was just neglect. Hallways smelled strongly of weed, and trains running under the building made it extremely loud and hard to sleep. Host didn’t resolve anything. Strongly do not recommend.

We really enjoyed that the apartment is located in the trendy neighborhood “The Gulch” and even though it’s not directly in downtown, it’s definitely walkable. The apartment was nice and clean and had a lot of amenities provided (e.g. shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen, coffee machine, a few bottles of water). The check-in and key access were easy and thoroughly described and we felt well accommodated all the time!

"The bad points about this place outweigh the good points"

Although we had some major issues with the Owner, there were still some very good points about the apartment. (In reviewing our stay, I’ve tried to be 100% objective and not hold the way the Owner handled our communications against him.) Here are the good points: 1. Big (especially for two people) 2. Excellent view 3. Clean 4. Nice amenities 5. Full kitchen

1. The main (top) section of the listing on booking.com said “Private Parking” with no mention of a cost. The day we were to arrive, we were informed that it’s $30 per day for parking. I went back to the Booking site and found the mention of paid parking on the very bottom of the listing in the Q&A section under “Can I park there?” I was not happy with the Owner (see below), so I just dropped my wife and our luggage by the entrance and then parked at a nearby lot (which was actually cheaper) and walked a few minutes to the apartment. 2. When I questioned the parking charge, the Owner said he had sent a note about the fee when I first made the reservation. I read through the entire chain on the Booking messaging app and there was absolutely zero mention of a fee. He said I should complain to Booking. Then, when I didn’t buy parking from him, he started talking about how my car would be booted and I would be responsible for all fees and fines involved with the booting. 3. It was cold in the apartment, and we went to turn up the thermostat a few degrees and it said that it was “controlled by the property manager.” 4. My wife and I both took showers at the same time, and the hot water ran out. 5. It’s not nearly as close to the attractions as we would have liked. It’s a 20-minute walk to South Broadway through an area that’s not very nice. 6. Definitely some street noise. But the main issue regarding noise are the trains—there’s no chance you’re going to sleep through that noise. 7. The bed wasn’t that comfortable. Would be a lot nicer with a foam mattress topper. 8. Dealing with this Owner is a lot more complicated than the other apartments we’ve stayed in through Booking.com. They ask for you to send a photo of your ID (first time I was asked in USA for this) and info about your car license plate and make/model. Then, when you check out, they ask you to send a photo of putting the key fob back in the lockbox. Who wants to go through all that?

"Spotless apartment near broadway"

We had a great stay at the Malibu Sweet Penthouse in Nashville! Everything was spotless and really well-stocked with anything we could have needed. The location was super convenient—less than a 10-minute drive to Broadway. No complaints at all, would definitely stay again!

Location was good. Easy walk to and from places.

Felt like the whole complex needed a huge deep clean. Carpets in the complex were really dirty and the elevator needed mopping. As far as the unit we stayed in - it needed cleaned also. Floors were dirty - after showering you needed slides or slipper so you feet didn’t get dirty. Master bedroom - covers on the bed had what look like blood on the comforter and part of the curtains. Fan needed mega dusting. The rest of the unit was good however we very limited on supplies. We had half a roll of paper towels to use for three days with a six month old, no Keurig coffee - just the machine with a used pod in it and we didn’t have WiFi the whole three days “it was a building issue” that they was working on - which meant no tv in the evening.
