"This house is a work in progress that needs better description in ads, with dangerously steep stairs, however, perfectly"

3.0

Chosen for price and simplicity; Its a terrace house on a cul de sac facing on to trees at the front and an enclosed run down yard at the back. It is very local to Asda, KFC and a shopping centre. It is a good location if you have your own transport. Clean and tidy with a reasonable supply of kitchen utensils and plates.

First impressions, a small terrace house, both houses either side, seemed unoccupied and had rubbish strewn around their fronts and really run down. The stairs are so steep that they are a real hazard in the dark, they are potentially really dangerous especially if a family had young children and should definitely have a stair gate or at least a nightlight in the upper landing as you have to descend steps to go to the bathroom at night being on a lower landing than the bedrooms. The bathroom floor looks lovely shiny stone but one drop of water on it and it’s a skating rink. On the other side of the trees in front of the house there is a very main dual carriageway, which boy racers and police spent the night chasing each other up and down until the small hours. The house although clean in every other way had some rather nasty substance on the kitchen sink which was not very inviting. The whole house has clearly just been renovated with new beds and furniture, shame then to give us horrible synthetic sheets that were so hot and unpleasant to sleep under. You couldn’t use the bedside lights on both sides of the bed as there was no where to plug them in, they were just left either side of the bed with plugs attached but not plugged in as the sockets were on the other side of the room so either they need to supply an extension lead or have further plug sockets fitted. The back yard could have been quite nice with a little table and chairs but no chairs were available unless you took some out of the house, it fence was surrounded at head height by barbed wire with rotting fabric hanging off it, not at all nice and reminiscent of of prison yard I imagine, with a little work it could be pleasant though. The kitchen fridge was a half size caravan fridge, if you were going to stay more than a day or two it would be difficult to fit all provisions in for more than a couple of people.
