Old Town 1 Bedroom Hideaway

The property was in a really lovely place in the old town and close to the castle, bars and restaurants.

Nothing, it was really nice and suitable for our requirements

The apartment was small but very comfortable and catered to all of my wife and I's needs. We didn't need anything bigger. Every bit of space had been utilised well to provide a lovely environment for our 4 nights here. The location was excellent as it was close to everything in Alicante and there were some great bars and restaurants just around the corner. If you are feeling energetic the steps leading up to Alicante castle are just to the right of the property. It's a fairly strenuous climb but worth it for the views. All in all a great property in a great location. Oh, and Jimmy the host was excellent as he messaged us all of the information we needed, like entry information promptly and which was easy to follow.

The apartment is in a great location close to the Central Market, tram station, beach and tourist attractions. Also, it's surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants and shops catering to every taste and budget. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and very well equipped. There are two really good, large screen TV's (lounge and bedroom), reliable wifi (as long as the shutters are open) and everything we used was in good working order. A small 'welcome' basket is provided with a couple of coffee pods for the machine and green/earl grey tea bags, but you'll need to buy sugar and milk. Washing up liquid and sponge/cloth are provided, we didn't use the washing machine so can't say if detergent was provided. All bed linen and towels were provided. You will need to buy cooking oil etc. if intending to cook as just salt is provided. Please be aware there are no shelves (missing?) in the fridge. There are no toiletries at all, so bring/buy your own. There is air con, but we didn't need to use it. Two restaurant recommendations - Sampa Picnic on the corner of the square of the Santa Maria church and Restaurant Carmen (you can see this from the balcony, look left). Alicante is a lovely place and I'd gladly holiday here again and stay at this apartment. Sightseeing recommendations - Santa Barbara castle, worth it for the views, be prepared to climb over/through the gates if walking back down to the Ermita San Roque as the path is 'closed'. This wasn't clear until we got to the gate! The old town streets - beautiful. Take the tram and have a day out in Altea & Benidorm, though be warned, it's quite a schlep to/from the station in Benidorm. A wander round Alicante is well worth it. Bus to/from the airport (catch/get off just below the Central Market) takes about 25 mins and costs 3.85 euros one way.

You will experience noise till the early hours from the bars/restaurants below - it was just Friday and Saturday when we were there (end of April), but you have to remember you are in the middle of town, so really should expect it or bring ear plugs. The apartment was excellent but we passed a few suggestions to Jimmy the manager (good communications with him), a bin in the bathroom, a cabinet or shelf on the other side of the bed, replace the missing fridge shelf(s), a couple of seats for the balcony and a hand towel in the kitchen. It won't ruin your stay if these aren't provided. Just remembered - if you've watched YouTube videos of couples recommending places to eat (El Mosquito arroceria comes to mind) - you will need a reservation, even at 2.00pm on a Friday afternoon!

The apartment had everything we needed and more TV in bedroom and lounge small balcony and washing machine it was central to everything pubs restaurants and only a 10 minute walk down to the front we had accidentally left the keys in the apartment and Jimmy came straight away and got the keys for us total star Behind the apartment is the path up the the famous blue pot houses and then up to the castle is is very central

The noise from the pubs outside but it wasn't a deal breaker it didn't ruin our stay

The apartment is well located with everything on your doorstep. Very comfortable and clean. Excellent communication with landlord. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful apartment in a perfect location. Super comfy bed, lots of pillows, tv in the bedroom was great I really got to relax and rest. The apartment had everything you need and it was well equipped. Absolutely loved my stay here! Btw super cute views on a small street and the mountain :)

Location was great.

No hot water,3 nights there and couldn't have a shower.
