Pwani House - Lamu Seafront

I had a wonderful stay overall and would happily return. The seafront views were absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of my visit. The hotel's location was also very convenient, making it easy to access nearby attractions and amenities. The staff were friendly, professional and respectful throughout my stay. As someone who values privacy and a quieter environment, I particularly appreciated that they gave my partner and I space while still being available whenever we needed assistance. The air conditioning was also excellent, which made our stay very comfortable.

The only downside was the bathroom setup in our room. The shower area was not properly separated from the rest of the washroom, which was quite inconvenient. As a result, I ended up having to use another room for showering, which detracted somewhat from the overall experience. Despite this, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the hotel's service and stunning ocean views.

The location is perfect. Just at the seafront. The rooftop terrace was very beautiful, with great views and nice furnishings, and even an outdoor kitchen. The staff was very very attentive, actively trying to be helpful. Attentive and friendly.

The rooms where not so much to celebrate. Very small, lights that doesn't work. Blocked drain in the bathroom. A narrow seafront balcony for the room is a plus. The swimmingpool indoors was horrible. No stairs or ladder to get out of it. And very very dirty and full of algeas.

Great breakfast. Fresh mango juice, scrambled eggs, coffee and fresh fruit included in the room price. I am from the US. Lower down it shows I am Kenyan. I am visiting Kenya.

Not much can be done to improve the bathroom. It is a very old home with a tiny bathroom. Good enough for the price.

Kind & helpful staff, the hotel felt safe for a solo female traveler. Pretty view looking over boats and water. Strong a/c. VERY big breakfast. Walkable in Lamu town.

Pool could be cleared up a bit, but still usable

Basically, the house and rooms look like the photo. The kitchen shown is a shared kitchen. Being on the waterfront also means low tide twice a day, exposing the seabed and its musty smells. To the right of the house are a garbage dump and ruins. The garbage attracts a huge number of flies and other insects.

I booked a "deluxe double room with sea view." The room was in no way deluxe. It had old furniture, no wardrobe, just a simple shelf, no special flooring, and no TV. The balcony was very small. The Pool looked dirty to me. As a result, it's not suitable for a luxury stay in my opinion.

Location was the ONLY thing we liked about this property

The property was nothing like the photos on booking.com It was dirty, did not have hot water, did not provide drinking water, had broken furniture and windows and the pool was a health hazard!
