Sapiens home - Weligama bay

Vi hade ett par riktigt härliga dagar på Sapiens och både vi och barnen uppskattade både rummet och poolen på hotellet. Det ligger superfint invid lagunen och vi kunde se apor klättra och hoppa i träden utanför. Men det allra allra bästa med hotellet var ändå maten - vi hade läst recensioner om hur bra det var men det var verkligen helt fantastiskt - till och med våra kräsna barn älskade den! Vi bodde över jul och de hade ordnat så fint med ett litet julfirande och barnen fick även varsin present - väldigt uppskattat :)

Very beautiful premises, with a great room with a stunning view of the river and pool, esp. at night with the lights. The common area is perfectly designed to relax, read a book, and wind down after surf. Food was impeccable! The staff was really friendly and helpful, they hooked us up with a driver the days after.

Det är lite långt från stranden, promenaden dit upplevde vi som vältrafikerad. Vi tyckte det var bättre att ta tuk tuk.

I really liked the place. Beautiful oasis next to the lake. The design is amazing, the pool area next to the lake is unique, the staff and the art vibe is very nice.

The room I had was very small and not so nice compared to the other rooms but it was the only available one. It gets very noisy during the day with the jewelry workshop on the roof, so that disturbs a bit the nice chill vibe. Breakfast was included in my booking but I didn’t even get a coffee or tea with it and had to pay extra (and pretty expensive for the region) so that was not so nice.

We had a wonderful stay at Sapiens Home. The property is beautifully designed, calm, modern, and very thoughtfully put together, with a real sense of peace throughout. It feels private and tucked away, yet still close enough to Weligama to explore easily. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and tastefully done, and the overall atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The food was excellent, a good blend of healthy nutritious options and a lot of variety on the menu. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner in particular went above and beyond for us - organising multiple day trips and setting us up for surfing lessons. He was exceptionally professional and went above and beyond for us. We can officially say we’ve been there, done that, and got the t-shirt 🤩 They also have two adorable cats!

Great staff! Big rooms, good facilities including communal ”living room” upstairs on the terrace. Chill vibes, excellent breakfast. I participated their ring making workshop too and the result is stunning. We really loved the location as well, quiet by the river, yet walking distance to beach and Weligama centre. :)

This might be a slight translation error but when they say ”co working space” I assume they mean the workshop. So don’t expect to find office chairs / screens for remote work.

Very beautiful stay with the most lovely people!! The pool is very nice, and the views are amazing. The rooms are big, clean and the shower is very nice (and hot!). It's not too far to walk to the center and the beach, but the location of Sapiens Home is quiet en peaceful. The breakfast is delicious. The staff is more than welcoming and kind, where they helped us when there were stray dogs in the street and we could not get passed them and made me feel special on my birthday with cake, a board and congratulations. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice pool and big, comfortable beds

It was difficult to close the door at the entrance and exit and also from the inside. Ants on the floor, towels not changed even though we stayed for 3 days. Far from the center, breakfast not varied
