Difficult stairs with bikes

The location was superb!

The stairs coming down and back seemed very unsteady and unstable for us. We also felt that in the bathtub you should have a handicap bar. Otherwise enjoy our visit and didn’t wanna leave.

The location and view were excellent. My husband loved sitting in the window nook watching the boats and planes.

Excellent location! Right on the harbor. There is also a dock associated with this property. Only two blocks from the ferry. Very convenient. We stayed in The Sweet Escape which had a full size refrigerator and spectacular view. It was perfect for two people. There is no deck, but you can amble down more stairs outside, to have a ringside seat of Friday Harbor. We visited for four nights in July 2025 and it was very hot when we arrived, as there is no air conditioning. But opening the windows and keeping them open, was all the breeze you needed. Plus, there was a big portable fan in the unit to use.

The stairs down to the property can be very challenging if you have "bad" knees. No dresser for clothes, only rack in bathroom. No exhaust fan in bathroom. No air conditioning (but only needed in extreme heat situations).

The location was perfect for a trip to San Juan Islands. We could walk to restaurants and shopping, docks and museums. The view was incomparable. It was so quiet and peaceful. Wish we had stayed longer.
