Svalbard Hotell | The Vault

Comfortable rooms, great shower and tub, amazing breakfast, easy check-in and check-out, fantastic location, friendly staff.

We were moved to the Polfareren hotel, so this review is not about the Vault as we didn't end up staying there. The Polfareren was lovely, modern, clean and great location at the top of the main High St. Breakfast was the best hotel buffet selection either of us had had, since our trip to the Maldives. Lovely and fresh, good quality, lots of hot and cold choices. Wood fire in the lounge with comfy chairs was a regular spot for us after excursions and long walks around the town. Lovely big bed, great view of the mountain from the bed through the large window, we were in room 232. Clean and modern bathroom, bath with good pressure shower, lovely hot water.

It states room service on the website, when we enquired about this at reception they said they don't do that. It also states they have a library, which my husband was hoping to find a reading book for our trip there, turns out the "library" was a shelf of maybe 10 books just by the lobby. When we asked the receptionist where there library was, they looked very confused and pointed us towards a shelf where some visitors had left the odd Norwegian book. No big deal, I would just suggest an update on the website, to not misrepresent what they're offering.

Inițial bookuisem "the Vault" dar cu doua zile înainte au anunțat că o să fiu mutat la Polfareren din considerente de spatiu, sunt peste drum unul de celălalt. Polfareren e mai bine cotat, deci am fost norocos. - Mic dejun bogat, internet bun, liniște, cameră superioară la etajul 3, căldură în camere și early check in.

Faptul că ne puneau sa ne descălțăm de fiecare dată la intrare.

Erinomainen aamiainen. Viihtyisä pieni aamiaistila. Ystävällinen ja palveleva henkilökunta.

Huoneen koko yhden tai kahden yön vierailuun hyväksyttävä. Pidempään vierailuun todella pieni. Varsinkin talviaikana yksistään vaatteiden ja varusteiden vaatima tila kohtuuton pieneen huoneeseen.

Bij binnenkomst wordt je verwelkomd door de heerlijke geur van de houtkachel. Alleen al dit detail na een dag in de kou zorgt voor een heerlijke binnenkomst. De kamer was top en in prima staat. Het ontbijt was heerlijk! Het hotel ligt centraal in het dorp waardoor je makkelijk te voet naar o.a. het winkelcentrumpje kon… maar door de ligging aan de rand van ‘main street’ was het ook heerlijk rustig en stil. Bij vertrek was ik mijn oortjes vergeten, bleek toen ik terug thuis was. Het hotel heeft er netjes voor gezorgd dat deze weer bij mij terug kwamen. Fijne service! Great location to the town. Nice area to walk around. Great breakfast.

Be prepared to leave your shoes at the door. Very common in Longyearbyen. No shoe policy.
