"Great, good walks lovely countryside selection of good pubs (red lion )"

8.0

Was self catering/ had a well equipped kitchen and all the amenities needed. Good location. For a cottage it was spacious with 3 good sized bedrooms

A bit of work is needed to tidy up the outside space

10 minutes walk from the town centre. Lovely cottage with good sized bedrooms. Delightful welcome pack .

We had to park a few hundred yards away from the cottage on the first day, but it was a busy bank holiday

"Wonderful and cosy cottage with stunning views"

10.0

Stunning location. Next to the lovely church and easily accessible from the town center and so many lovely walks. Beautiful view from the sunny garden. Lots of mugs and utensils. Comfortable rooms with great linen and cosy exception was the pillows which were too high for my neck but that’s the only thing. Lots of hot water and clear instructions on heating etc. maybe a few restaurants for recommendations would be good or a visitors book to write in ours but these are just thoughts. We loved the cottage and would come back tomorrow!! People also so friendly and very dog friendly everywhere which was a huge plus. Good communication and exactly as described. Possibly the loveliest stays I’ve had via booking.com.

Couldn’t open windows very much to air room but might just be my lack of strength. I can’t really say any negatives

"Beautiful house."

8.0

Beautiful house nicely decorated, kitchen was well equipped, wonderful touch of a Bakewell tart in the fridge. Beds were very comfortable the twin room not so luxurious as the others. Living room two comfortable large sofas and a nice cosy Woodburner if needed. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Outdoor space needed a bit of tidying up, walls painting and patio weeding, this was a shame as the rest of the property was so nice. The middle floor bathroom was very small for two bedrooms. Car parking outside property only if you’re lucky enough to get there first! We had to park up the road outside the pub which I wasn’t too happy with.

"Wonderful cosy comfortable stay in a great location"

9.0

Wonderfully cosy property - underfloor heating individually controlled, radiators with full control, log-burner, hot towel rails...also very comfy, great sized rooms, two good bathrooms with excellent showers. Very well appointed kitchen with all the utensils you need and a big range cooker; coffee machine and also a cafetiere. Dishwasher and washing machine are in a utility room along with the kitchen sink, but it didn't matter much for us, and we cooked at home every night for our 3-night stay. Good internet and a big TV in a comfy lounge, lovely big kitchen table. Great communications and perhaps the best experience for house, arriving, leaving, instructions. Parking outside wasn't quite 100% but close. Great locations for walks from the doorstep (we walked to Matlock Bath and the cable car for example) and for popping into town. Nearby pubs and good chippy at the green (not easy to spot on Google Maps).

Tiniest minor point, the travel cot was provided but was a bit big for a 3-month old and so larger than the sheets we'd brought. But there were spare sheets. A couple of spare blankets for the beds would also have saved us having to have the heating on as much - but it was a very, very cosy place to be.
