Galway Green - Lake View Luxury Apartment, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka

Excellent quality accommodation. We stayed for one night and found it very comfortable.

A little out of the way and views were of a rubbish strewn parking area. A group of children threw a DVD at the glass doors.

Comfortable and spacious apartment, good kitchen with large fridge (inc freezer) and 4 ring stove top which made it very easy for us to self cater here. We are a family of 4 - if more than that staying and the number of plates/bowls might become an issue. Bathrooms/showers are great. The apartment benefits from several balconies. Fairly quiet location and very easy and quick to get into town (less than 10 mins in a Tuk). Caretaker (Babu) is absolutely excellent - met us and took us to the apartment, arranged a Tuk for us and very quickly fixed the wi-fi when it went off on our second evening and was able to ensure we could check out early AM. .

Apartment block a little tricky to find at first as seems to be marked incorrectly on on Google maps. If, like us, you are arriving from a more rural location it might be a bit of a surprise to have to navigate the underground car park and lift (or stairs) to reach your front door. The view from the property is about a 3 or if the sun shines a 4 out of 10 (especially given Sri Lankan standards and don’t expect a lake view) but if you are out and about like we were this hardly matters. We’d recommend going to Hakgala botanical gardens (about 20mins away) for one idea (the bus ride back into town from there runs every 20 mins or so) You’ll likely need a jumper for your stay but that goes for across the whole area for much of the year I believe. Nuwara Eliya the one place we saw people wearing woolly hats….

Bij aankomst bleek dat het echt wel wat ver van het dorpje lag, het voelde als the middle of nowhere. Er is geen receptie en je wordt afgezet in een kale rare parkeergarage. Buiten stonk het enorm naar vuilnis. Dan is het best fris en grijs en sta je bij een stinkende lege parkeergarage. Dan komt er uiteindelijk iemand die je naar het appartement brengt en dat is okay. Hij is niet zo goed bereikbaar, reageert niet snel op app en telefoon dus je mist echt wel even receptie.

Breakfast was not included with the rent but there is a supermarket near by this place so it was easy to arrange breakfast as per our demand. Location is fantastic! Close to downtown but calm and quite place with nice view.

It's best for family and friends. Privacy, environment, security and safety, cleanness, everything was fine.

The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Walking distance from town as well.

Nothing wrong with the apartment, just personal preference that it lacked some ‘ atmosphere’.
