Lovely hotel

The Food could be better, less deep fried would be healthier

Loved the hotel, decoration, the layout, plenty of space to sit and enjoy a drink or meal. The grounds were lovely. Enjoyed watching the resident peacock.Rooms were also tastefully decorated.

The location is superb in a lovely setting with fantastic outside space. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful with disabled bays. The evening meal on both occasions was hot, well cooked and very tasty, A good choice at breakfast too with hot food cooked to order.

Although the room was quite clean there was a cobweb on one wall and the shower tray had unsightly black mould on the sealant. Also there was quite a lot of traffic noise. Poached eggs served to my wife one morning were rock hard and stone cold but this was an exception as the rest of the cooked breakfasts we had were excellent. We didn’t complain as we didn’t have time to wait for the poached eggs to be replaced as I am sure they would have been.

I found the room very warm overnight and was disappointed that the only window couldn’t be opened. It was good that a fan was provided but it’s noisy to have it working when you’re trying to sleep.
