Empress at College - Spacious 2 bedroom apartment

Location was great, it was close to tourist attractions, shops and cruise terminal plus easy to find. Apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. Host was always contactable, friendly and very helpful.

Apartment front door was a little confusing and difficult to lock/unlock. The number of fire doors to get through with luggage was a little difficult.

The place was clean but that was about it.

We had to get one of the builders to help us find the locked box as the building was covered in scaffolding and plastic, and that was after we spend an hour or so trying to find something identifying the building. The beds were saggy and needed replacing, the lounge was old and tired and so low it was hard to get up from. The balcony door unlocked when we arrived and were unable to lock it to secure our belongings. The balcony was covered in builders rubbish and scaffolding so we were unable to use it. There was WIFI but no internet so unable to contact the people looking after the property. I sent them an email once I got on board the ship where I had internet access telling them of the problem and requesting a partial refund. Surprise, surprise - no response to my email and no refund. It would not have even been so bad if we had been advised of the building renovations, but there was nothing. They already had our money. NOT HAPPY with the whole situatiuon.

Location was great, convenience store at end of street. Basic kitchen facilities, washing machine and dryer very handy.

Access appalling. Lockbox down one end of building, door at the other. Scaffolding all over building, which we were not informed about, unable to use terrace. A few things could have done with a clean : cups stained, washing machine filter smelly and dirty, bathroom walls by toilet needed wiping down, couch very stained. Lumpy uncomfortable beds.

location was excellent, apartment had everything we needed for our short stay, clean and comfortable, would definitely stay here again.

main bathroom only had a hand held shower head not a proper shower.

The building is currently being entireöy renovated- no Information upfront, dust of course, look at my photos and judge yourself, getting to the appartment (incl elevator) feels like a paper chase game

Beautiful place to stay. Bit of drilling in the morning but that can’t be helped. Recommended to everyone. Shop across road had everything.

Support staff on site was helpful

The building is in the progress of external wall renovation but there was no information provided before or after my booking. My friend has asthma and felt not good once entered the building. Smelly, dirty anddusty along the lobby area on the floor. Construction noise started at 9am. Also because of the external wall renovation makes the outlook of the bldg totally different then the description and photos from check-in instructions, we took long time to find the bldg. There is no sign for apa name or no. at the entrance. No hot water after 2 people shower but the apartment supposed can accommodate 4 to 5. Anyway, staff was helpful and fixed the hot water issue in the next morning.

Great location right on the shopping street. Comfortable apartment. Danni, the lady who is in charge was extremely nice and helpful. On the last day, she even drove us to the cruise port as there were no taxi available. Thanks a lot Danni. Will definitely come back if we ever cruise from Southampton again.

No elevator to the apartment. Lots of stairs to climb if you have heavy suitcases.
