Excellent hosts, very welcoming.. Lovely baked treats..and tayto cheese and onion. 😋..Cottage has everything that you could possibly need for a short break away 👍👌

Location is excellent - peaceful, yet close to great restaurants and fabulous scenery steps away. Hosts Ann and Brendan really do care, and go above and beyond to make you welcome and stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. There were lots of gorgeous home-made welcome treats including scones with jam, croissants, wonderful butter shortbread, fresh fruit and a jar of sweet treats! Hubby said he had the best nights sleep in a long time - we both slept really well. The property is filled with books and magazines and the kitchen is well equipped with all you could need. I can see us returning again!

Nothing! Our 2 nights went way too fast…

Tasteful, comfortable, quirky and calm. Best location and a perfect place to relax explore and chill. Most comfortable bed we slept in on our week in Ireland and so many treats made this a gem 🤍

Only regret is we never booked for longer

From the moment we stepped into the cottage, we were met with the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen had everything we needed (and more) with delicious home baked scones, shortbread and lemon squares packed in quaint little bags to keep everything fresh. The fridge was well stocked with drinks, fresh cream, jam and some sweet treats. The hosts had not forgotten anything. We were met with a very warm welcome from our hosts Brendan and Ann as soon as we arrived. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their information pack gave us all the details we needed from local walks, transport, local restaurants and the best spots in Portaferry and beyond. Ropewalk Cottage can be located nestled in a quiet location just a few steps from the Aquarium. It’s the perfect spot to explore the village and it’s a two minute walk to the ferry which takes you to Strangford. It’s very central. We’ve already shared this gem with family and friends and we can’t wait to return. It’s the kind of cottage that makes you feel at home and makes it hard to leave. Thank you Brendan and Ann, we’ll see you very soon.
