The Bothy - A secluded and romantic rural retreat

It was very cosy and stylishly decorated. Really comfy and had everything we needed. Also dog friendly and our dog felt very comfy and at home.

Everything was great, the only thing was that the toilet had a bit of a smell of sceptic tank (kind of similar to a portaloo or caravan toilet) and we could smell sewerage. Possibly a plumbing issue which should be looked at.

As per instructions

I was disappointed with the bed, it was only a double with a mattress which dipped in the middle so it wasn’t very comfortable. I had expected a King size bed. The pillows were foam but thankfully I took my own feather pillow with me. There was no dishwasher and the sofa was small and not even a sofa, more like two chairs put together with a throw covering it. I was surprised that there was no welcome package, not even a pint of milk - expected more for the cost.

The only thing that was good was the log burner

It is tiny , and damp , it was august and we had to have the heaters on - the bed was damp , there is no where to hang any clothes and the bed was small , I’m petite and partner isn’t big we had four terrible nights sleep , there are no areas to prepare food without knocking things , no where for coats or shoes , the shower leaked onto the floor making it really slippy and there is no where to place anything in the bathroom , the toilet is wobbly and doesn’t flush properly and the vent makes a racket . Everything looks good quality but there is no room ,I booked it for the bath but is was too damp to have. Bath in the bedroom so it wasn’t used . If it was the south of France and boiling this would work but in damp wales in the height of summer !!!!!! This is way to expensive for what it is, a disastrous and expensive four nights DONT TRY IT

Overall decor

Cleanliness; dirty windows, tv screen and surfaces. Damp smells, dehumidifier on but full up with water. Pathway up to bothy treacherous in wet and dark conditions, need lights, solar lights broken & lying in grass. Need to cut steps into hill.garden overgrown and trees over the house banged into windows when it was stormy. Cheap bedding material and small thin towels in the bathroom.

Interior and very private, good for a romantic break good bath, comfy bed, very clean and useful outside space

Was a bad drain smell throughout the stay that couldn’t shift even with opening windows, walk up to property is quite steep. Check out time early.

Location perfect for a relaxing few days

The walkway to the Botha was more than expected

Location was snuggled behind another larger cottage .. not over looked . In a beautifully wild wrap around garden with lots of wild birds .. a little winding path to get to the Bothy .. the interior is way above the standard we have previously experienced .. simple and stylish .. unspoilt . High quality fixtures and fittings . The bath in the bedroom has a lovely view out of the window … and everything you need in the kitchen … located centrally for visiting all the great beaches and South Stack easily ..

Happy with everything ..

The location was perfect, the layout of the bothy was exactly what we wanted. Great for a romantic get away.

We were informed on the website but the walk up to the bothy would be a problem if you struggle with mobility. That was the only slight problem.
