Munnar Tea Estate Cottage and Resort - Away From City Hustle

From our room we could see a huge tree. Without the view that you could admire from the balcony of the room, it would not have been worth it. The food was also nice.

No loundry service. Very foolish as there is nothing around. The room could have been much cleaner.

Breakfast was included and it was okay. Location is far away but view was good.

Booking.com fees was 1300 more than the offline booking. Unclean, towels, bedsheets were not changed. No toiletries. Toilet was smelling.

Far away from city, with amazing view, fresh air, common lobby and great room service.

The building design is old, the toilets were smelly and slimy, it gets dirty easily.

Only two points worth mentioning here: 1. The view from the property was pretty nice. A look at the hills and trees gives you an ease. 2. The helping staff, Surya. He was always nice and assisting us throughout.

Many things: 1. The location of the property is very far (12km) from the city and no easy way to travel. No network signal, potholes and the road is pretty scary at night. 2. The property listing is a scam. You will see external photos of Elixir Hills Resort, which is in the same estate. The name of the property is also not consistent; on Google it's "RaaRees Mist Resort". Manager assured us at the time booking that this and Elixir hills are the same property. Two other families were also scammed into this. 3. Both the managers are super greedy. From the time you move into the property, they will start selling you their tourist package for sightseeing, on which they charge upto 50% commission. 4. No respect to anyone's privacy. They will knock your door every other time to clarify - bag is misplaced, coat is lost, Breakfast is ready, Want to eat dinner, etc. 5. During our stay, they asked us to change the room and we had to argue with them that we can't change in between. 6. Smelly bathroom throughout. It was unbearable and we had to constantly spray in the room. 7. Food is below average and cannot eat everyday. Being in such a remote location, you cannot go out for dinner as well. 8. The complimentary breakfast menu was SAME every morning - Idly/Puttu, Poori, Sambar, Aloo Sabzi, Watermelon. 9. No amenities. No intercom, no kettle, no hair dryer, no toiletries, no dental kit, no towels. You have to ask multiple times. Even when we requested for fresh towels they made us wait for 5 hours as they don't keep extras. 10. Old and broken furniture.
