Holiday Home in the Heart of Riga

It does have a good location and offers free parking.

The house is very old, and the furniture is generally outdated. When you enter, there is a strong musty smell. The place is full of blankets and rugs that haven’t been cleaned in a long time. The house is extremely, extremely dirty, full of cobwebs everywhere (as you can see in the photos). The mattresses are awful, and the pillows are so thin and poor in quality that it’s almost better to sleep without them. On top of that, they are incredibly dirty, and I found them without pillow covers—absolutely disgusting. I seriously doubt that the sheets and towels had been washed or changed in a long time. When I got into bed, I could feel sand or dirt on my feet, and nothing smelled fresh or clean. The kitchen was also very dirty, especially the oven. We were going to use it, but after seeing its condition, we decided not to for the sake of our health. I spoke with the host, and at first, as you can see, it seemed like she was going to offer a solution. I requested a full refund, but she stopped responding and didn’t even try to offer a partial resolution. As you can see from the conversation, at no point does she deny that the sheets hadn’t been washed or changed. Whether a house is modern or old doesn’t matter to me, but hygiene and cleanliness are basic necessities—both of which were completely nonexistent in this place. I would upload more photos so you could see the rest of the house, although you can already get an idea, but Booking does not allow more than four photos to be uploaded.

Everything was good

Place is spacious - you get a whole house to yourself. It has pretty much everything you might need like kitchen, dishes and utensils, gas stove, dish washer, fridge, freezer, 3 smart TVs, interactive television subscription, 2 king sized beds, 2 sofas to sleep on, 2 additional smaller beds, bath, toilet paper and towels. It has many restaurants and some smaller shops around, close to oldtown and public transportation. Quick and pleasant communication with the owners. Sleeping at night was quiet. Overall the stay here was very pleasant without major issues. Felt like visiting your grandparents house.

These are minor issues, but one of the wooden steps to the upstairs was kind of broken, the key to open the front gates didn't work properly without some hefty amount of "moving around" (we unlocked it by putting it through the gate hole on other side of the fence) and the big kitchen pan has seen some heavy use (still useable, but be prepared to burn a bit of your food in the process).

Location and good customer service.

This place badly needs renovation and good quality bedding. Electrical outlets ,switches, and sideralls are sticky and dirty.Shower curtains leak throughout, and hot water very limited. Also, this place is not safe for people with allergies because all couches are covered with dusty blankets. It's took us 4 hours to clean the house before we were ready to get some rest. For $300 it is possible to find much cleaner place within Riga. In general it's ok.
