Above & Beyond at Warriston Lodge

Absolute gem of a find for a stop off on our way to the Highlands. A warm welcome on arrival from David & Karen, who helped us take our bags to the room and the welcome drink (choice of beer, wine or G&T) was a lovely start to our stay. Superking room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything thought of, and a fabulous bathroom. Everything we needed for a good breakfast was provided in the room. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Ich habe im Appartment übernachtet und kann kaum fassen wie gemütlich es dort war, alles war mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und vorbereitet, ich habe mich sofort wohl und wie zu Hause gefühlt! Mein Eindruck war, dass hier immer die liebevolle Frage mitschwang, was können wir noch tun um unseren geschätzten Gästen die größtmögliche Unterstützung dabei zu geben die beste Zeit ihres Lebens zu haben... 100%ige Empfehlung! Extremely welcoming to dogs. Even to the point of providing treats, bed, poo bags and towels to dry them off. The glass of wine and snacks was also welcome to the human too 😀

Karen and David had sent a very helpful list of place to have dinner. They welcomed us and showed us where everything was - tremendous attention to detail, and really everything we could have wanted. It was obvious that they had significant hospitality expertise. Very dog friendly with treats, bed, bowl and towels to wipe with on coming back from a walk. Altogether this was the best B&B we have stayed in. Would definitely book again.

The room was supplied with cereals, granola, bread and a toaster, milk, butter and jam, cold cuts and cheese, milk, orange juice, tea, instant coffee, shortbread, etc. in quantity; and a most welcome glass of wine was on offer upon my arrival. The rooms (bed and bath) were beautifully furnished and supplied with everything one would most likely require. The level of hospitality here is exceptional. I also found the location to be ideal. The house is situated in a quiet neighborhood of trees, gardens, and lovely Victorian homes, and lies within 10 minutes walking-distance from the town center. I came to Moffat largely to enjoy its trails and paths through the countryside. I found that I could easily access all of these, on foot, from Warriston Lodge.

A truly great experience all round. Beautiful building, wonderful bedroom with separate bathroom and lounge, with all the facilities you could think of. And just the most amazing welcome from Dave and Karen as we arrived, settled us in and arranged a short notice booking at a local restaurant. The only downside was we only stayed one night which was a real shame.
