Above & Beyond at Warriston Lodge

We have stayed here before and so we knew it would be great, which is a really good feeling, would recommend it to anyone.

David & Karen was amazing from the moment we got there, the room was amazing, the bathroom as well, it was spotless and could not do enough for you & our dog, we will be returning in 2026 to stay for longer as It was that good

Karen & David could not have been more welcoming. Greeted us at the door. Offered us drinks on arrival, showed us around, explained everything and then left us in peace to settle in. Lent us coats and umbrella (I’d left mine behind) for rainy walk to pub. Dog bowl and dog blanket laid out ready (she preferred it to her own!) No hidden extra charge for dog. Brilliant DIY continental breakfast provided in our room, which was perfect because we needed to shoot off v early to catch a ferry. They’ve thought of everything. Even gave us a tip-off about where to see the local badgers. Such a welcome change from the depressingly impersonal Days Inn and Travelodge style stopovers we normally tend to use, and way better value.

Lightning quick stopover left us wishing we had longer to appreciate everything.

La amplitud de la Habitación y lavabo. Su tribuna con visión panorámica. Que aunque no daban desayunos,dejaban en la habitación todo lo necesario para un buen desayuno continental.

No estaría mal disponer de un armario para la ropa en la habitación, aunque había perchero y cómoda.

We felt totally relaxed, comfortable and at home. My wife and I found our hosts to be genuine lovely people. In addition it is just a short walk to the centre of Moffat.

Everything. It was attractive and very comfortable.

Quality, attention to detail, sheer comfort and such a warm welcome. The room was large and superbly equipped. The bathroom was exceptionally good and the bed as good as you get. We were amazed at how well thought out everything was - such a great concept.

This was a perfect stopover en route north. The hosts Karen and David were extremely hospitable. The facilities were wonderful with 3 rooms in the attic apartment. Breakfast left in the fridge was a bonus. Everything had been thought about for all the ‘little extras’ . The Italian restaurant Claudios (kindly booked for us by David) was lovely. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

The breakfast items were generous and delicious; the rooms comfortable and spacious. Everything we might have needed had been thought of and provided by Karen and David who are the most welcoming, kind and friendly hosts. A short twilight walk to see the local badgers was an unexpected bonus.

Honestly, nothing.

A lovely warm welcome from the fantastic hosts was the best possible start. Having a separate living room was a bonus and a separate bathroom was surprisingly relaxing.
