Villa Maiteren Etxea- 4 Beds property with private pool

Spacious, very clean, well maintained and a lovey nearby host

Just a little out of the way in terms of the bars and restaurants but there’s a mini market opposite and cabs aren’t too pricey

We stayed as a family of 8 and there was plenty of room for us all. It was a beautiful clean villa with everything you need. Eric met us there with the keys and he was on hand with anything we needed we'll definitely book again we had a fantastic time 😊

The house was comfortable

So our stay at this villa is a bit of a rollercoaster when we arrived absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately this quickly took a really bad turn. So we arrived at the villa at 5pm we are a family of 6 and 1 friend of the boys. So we were 2 Adults 2 17 years old boys a 14 year old boy and 2 girls age 11 and 9. So of course after along day of travelling all they wanted to do is dive in the pool. After about 1hr the kids started getting a burning affect on the skin and got out of the pool. These later that evening turned to blistered event but we said nothing as we went to the pharmacy were they said it was fungal and gave cream and antihistamines but all we wanted was to have a good holiday so we tried to let it go another day but unfortunately it got even worse every time any of the kids went in the pool they got a severe burning and after itchy affect which means we could use the pool. We spent the majority of the 2 weeks away from the villa. I had spoken to the host that looks after the villa after 3 days and he advised us that he taught it was a reaction from the pool so take the chlorine tablets it but now my kids are scared from these burns and I contacted the owner who said he was mortified and would get the pool emptied and refilled and offered a 30% gesture back of the money we paid. But after this the pool took nearly 2 days to empty and fill and then another day to heat back up. So at this stage we were nearly day 11 of our 14 day holiday. Every time my youngest girl who is 9 gets in after about an hr it starts stinging as the sores were that bad and I'm writing this as on the plain home as she still has bad wounds which by the looks are definitely going to scare along with my other 11 year old daughter that's has these scares on her chest. I spoke to the owner and requested a refund of what we paid and he argued that my contract is it with booking.com but he owns the villa not booking.com and I sent booking.

This villa is very large and comfortable and recently decorated, the furniture and fittings are nice quality and it is imaginatively decorated. The rooms are large and we really enjoyed the garden room/dining room by the barbecue, the pool table and the little roof terrace. The kids loved the pool, and the little garden is very pretty. We found Eric, who let us in on the first day, very helpful and pleasant. We also enjoyed climbing Montana Roja, a small volcano, just behind the villa. We only went to the local beach, Playa Flamingo, once as we hired a car and explored the rest of the island, which has many lovely beaches and towns to explore.
