Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our spa stay. Using the spa at night was incredibly relaxing, and the lighting was very well thought out. Our room had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which was a lovely festive touch, and the restaurant and bar areas felt cosy and inviting with the Christmas decorations. However, the food and service in the restaurant and bar unfortunately let the hotel down. The quality of the food was very poor, which was disappointing as we have been visiting the hotel for several years, even before the spa was introduced, when the food was outstanding. Sadly, it feels as though this has gradually declined. Service was also lacking; as one of the last tables in the restaurant, our plates were left for almost 20 minutes after we had finished, which put us off ordering dessert. The bar experience was similarly disappointing, with customers waiting to be served and staff difficult to find. After eventually placing our order, there was a long wait while drinks were apparently being made in another bar, and overall the service felt disorganised and inattentive. We would return to the hotel again to stay and enjoy the spa, but we would choose to dine and have drinks elsewhere, likely at the Culloden Hotel a few miles down the road

A wonderful night’s getaway at The Old Inn Crawfordsburn. From start to finish, everything was just perfect. The reception staff and doorman were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The bedroom was absolutely stunning, the four poster bed was such a treat and was really comfortable. We even had a lovely Christmas tree! The Treetop Spa was excellent and so relaxing, we especially loved the sauna and hot tub, and the cocktails in the conservatory were delicious. Loved the QR code ordering methods dotted around the spa. Dinner was grand, the restaurant was very busy but that was to be expected on a Friday night before Christmas. Breakfast the next morning was a much calmer affair, and we were thoroughly impressed with the continental spread and Ulster fry. Afterwards, we headed back to the spa for massages. Josie was first class, I feel so rejuvenated and I’m still floating on a cloud! Check out was smooth and I treated myself to some Elemis goodies. The girls at reception were once again friendly and professional, the staff at The Old Inn Crawfordsburn really made the stay fantastic. We’ll be back next year for our wedding, and hopefully before then too!

Allow a lot of time as waiting doesn’t mean you will be served. Especially the bar area. But most people I speak with say it’s the the same all the time. Some go elsewhere now.

Sorry to say not up to standard as a 4 Star hotel for an overnight Christmas stay .On Arrival staff were friendly enough.The unsuite hand some sort of sticky liquid spilled on the floor with a few hairs , as i phoned to have it clean there was a girl came to clean the floor dust on the table where cups are and the bedside table,no blue bath towels in room for the spa .As we checked out I mentioned about the towels they said you should have asked .is there no member of staff to check rooms before guests arrive ? As I have an allergy to Garlic there.was very little choice to eat ,what I had chosen unfortunately I was told it had contain Garlic.which left me with a plate with one peice of very plain Chicken ,a salad of green leaves and a container of chips not what I had expected very dissapointing ! The only nice thing the Spa and the company I was with .

I stayed here last weekend and left feeling disappointed. While sitting in the hotel bar, I asked the barman if he could put the football on the TV. He said he would, but never did. After finishing my drink, I returned to the bar to order another and politely asked again, assuming he had simply forgotten — the bar wasn’t busy. His response was, “Yeah, I will later.” He still never changed the channel, leaving me to watch the match on my phone. There was nobody else watching the TV, and they even had the channel I requested. Unfortunately, his attitude came across as quite rude. I would have completely understood if other guests were watching something else, or even if the barman had simply acknowledged my request. But neither happened. Dreadful. We then (regrettably) decided to stay in the bar for food, and the service continued to disappoint. In hindsight, the barman’s ignorance should have been our cue to eat elsewhere, but we didn’t have time to look up other options. I ordered the burger and fries, and my partner got the chicken wings. The food was tastey. Surprisingly, we were never given cutlery or napkins — something I’d expect as a basic standard in any restaurant, let alone a 4-star hotel. As the evening went on, the bar grew busier and staff were clearly under pressure, though the waitresses on the floor remained friendly and helpful, which I do appreciate. On a positive note, the hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. Our room was cosy, comfortable, and spotless. The sauna, hot tub area was impressive. I informed the receptionist about my experience while checking out and she apologised and stated somebody from the hotel might be in contact. I haven't heard from them since. Overall, the accommodation was nice, but the bar service left a lot to be desired.

Great cosy room,lovely atmosphere,fantastic retreat with use of pool & spa facilities ideal for a couples retreat.
