"The Royal Rooms at Co-op live, Never again"

1.0

The bed was comfortable for a single night. Off road parking.

The Royal Rooms at Co-op live are nothing to do with Co-op Live. It states there is a restaurant on site, this is untrue. There is a lovely looking kitchen but there are no plates or bowls and no cutlery! While looking for cutlery I came across medication that i know is prescribed by medical professionals. There was also a packet of cigarettes. I checked the cupboards and fridge to see if there was milk anywhere for the 2 teabags and single sachet of coffee we had been left but there was nothing (literally) in the cupboards or fridge excluding an opened carton of oatmilk which i was not going to use. The bedroom was smaller than it looked in the images. There was around 40cm either side of the bed and slightly more at the bottom of the bed. The photos showed cakes and wine in the room but neither were there when we stayed. There were no towels - not even to dry my hands after washing them. Later found out these are available for an extra charge. There is a sign on the stairs telling people to take their shoes off before going upstairs - not comfortable or welcoming. The family room is just the living room area. On returning to the property later in the evening someone had been in and put lamps (including battery operated) on. The rooms are unlocked with a code so this left me wandering if someone came in to put lights on what else did they do? I would NEVER recommend Royal Rooms and certainly won't use them again after this experience.

"So terrible we didn’t actually stay. We forfeited our £200 and paid extra £150 to stay elsewhere!"

1.0

Totally not what I expected, in fact we left and stayed at a Travelodge down the road because we felt so uncomfortable. We felt we had to creep through someone’s house (without shoes) in order to not disturb anyone, the room was totally cramped (seriously barely big enough for the bed) there was a real feeling of staying in someone else’s (who didn’t want you to be there) house, not welcoming at all, the parking space promised was not available, the instructions on accessing the property unclear, the titchy tiny room and access to the family bathroom next door (!) was so ridiculously not what was advertised.

All of it

"Good room in suburban house close to Co-op Arena"

8.0

Stayed in an en-suite double room for one night to go to the Co-op Arena. Beautifully presented room. Lots of nice touches. Clean This is a room in a suburban house. Quiet, parking and good communication for check in etc.

Personally was overpriced. £270 for one night. Expected a hotel rather than a room in a house but that's my issue for not investigating better when booking. Could do with some curtains rather than white blinds. Bring your eye shields!

"Lovely stay"

10.0

It was very easy to check in by the code to get the key and the key code for our room

The only tiny little thing was that the tv didn’t work when we tried putting the normal channels on

"Small expensive room in convenient location"

4.0

Good position for Co-op live. Clean room with adequate facilities.

Our room was small with a double bed and ensuite shower and toilet. There was nowhere to hang clothes in the room and no chairs. There was a well equipped kitchen downstairs. The 'dining room' was a common sitting room with a table that had all sorts of things on it, including a very large television so that it could not be used for eating. There were no dining chairs. There was a small sofa - not really adequate considering that there were at least 3 rooms being rented out. There were no other chairs. I did not find the messages from the owners welcoming. They seemed more concerned about pointing out penalties for causing damage or not locking the patio door. In fact, I am not sure our entry point, the patio door, which had to be locked with a key, would comply with fire regulations. Checkout time was very early, 9 till 10 am. The cleaner turned up at 0930, knocking on our room door. I wouldn't go back to this property, and it has made me very dubious about using a room in a house or apartment again. At £140 for one night, it was very poor value for money.

How beautifully decorated it was.

Noticing small things like cracks in the wall in the room we stayed in. Around the perimeter of the shower wasn’t clean

"It was ok, close to venue"

No kettle in the room, no coffee. A seat in the corner would have been nice and somewhere to hang coats
