Royal Rooms at Coop Live Etihad, Sports City

Great location. Clean and comfortable. Host was helpful. Private parking. Hairdryer. Plenty of towels.

It wasn’t until arrival that we realised we were staying in a semi-detached house on an estate. At the time of booking there was nothing to suggest it wasn’t a hotel. We were told to take our shoes off to go up to our room, which I felt very uncomfortable with; it felt like we were staying in someone’s spare room. Slippers were available (clearly taken from hotels) but obviously used. The message I received at 6:14am on checkout day reminded us to return them. The bedroom was quite small with no space to put any belongings. All surfaces had unnecessary ‘stuff’ on them. There was a tray with 2 cups, a small bottle of wine (nice touch) biscuits, teabags and sachets of sugar. However, there was no coffee, milk or kettle in the room. There was a kettle in a communal kitchen, but no means of having a coffee in the morning. When entering and leaving the house we did so via rear patio doors leading into a living room. When we left in the morning there was another guest sleeping in the sofa (with bedding) which made it very awkward to leave. We actually thought we were walking through his room at first. (His friend snored!) Since we booked some time ago, I think the description of the property has now changed, although it claims ‘Guests can grab a bite to eat in the in-house modern restaurant, which specialises in Caribbean cuisine and also offers vegetarian, vegan and halal options’. No! There is not a restaurant. In hindsight we could have stayed in a very nice hotel in the city and got a taxi for a lot less than we paid.

Great Value for money lots of Space! Booked last minute after another place let us down so was really relieved this place could accommodate us so late in the evening! The communication was clear & efficient going out of their way for us. Super comfy & peaceful able to get some well needed rest. Such a huge, lovely Guest house in a beautiful area really convenient for the Coop Live! I’ll be going to a Gig there later this year so will defo stay again!

Absolutely Nothing. It was a great stay and the host was very responsive.

The location was good for access to the Co-Op arena at the Etihad. The host was polite and friendly and helpful and the room, although small, was clean and well stocked with condiments.

The title is mis-leading, this is a bedroom in a house in an estate close to the new Co-Op arena and Etihad stadium and whilst clean and tidy and comfortable it was considerably more expensive than top hotels in the city centre and as such did not represent good value.

It was beautifully decorated, good location and there were thoughtful touches

The blinds let in a lot of light, the room was light by 4am, there was no bin in the room and the kitchen facilities weren't explained properly, it felt awkward to use them, like we were intruding in someone's house. The TV was kept upright by a vase, all perfectly normal for a day to day house, but if you're charging more than a premier inn, the experience should be better than a premier inn.

Location excellent

The bedroom is so full of things to help make stay enjoyable it is too full. Very comfortable bed but it would be better if standard double in the room so more space around it. Perhaps put television on wall opposite bed as difficult to watch on the side.

Absolutely fantastic stay, room & accommodation outstanding 😍, amazing host; went out of her way to extend my stay last minute & extended my stay last minute, would most definitely recommend & will definitely stay again
