Cheerful, cosy, one bedroom home with patio and parking

Unfortunately we could only stay one night. Very nice cosy apartment in a pretty garden setting. Spotlessly clean.

It was absolutely charming, the host paid attention to all the details that make a stay comfortable and stress-free.

There was absolutely nothing that detracted from this stay

This is a wonderful place for a couple. It is well equiped with ALL the everyday consumables provided including cereals, fresh milk, biscuits and a multitude of drinks plus cooking basics, cleaning stuff and all shower soaps etc. It is nice and quiet yet only 20 min walk to Newbury centre.

If I have to say something I would say that the pillows were too firm for me, but that’s just my preference. The bed was very comfortable

The price, location and host, Julia, were exceptional. It was well supplied with every detail, set in beautiful gardens. everything worked, internet was strong, kitchen functional and practical.

This is not a complaint because we were comfortable and happy here, but people need to know for deciding. The premises are tiny by Australian standards, and possibly even English standards. We had two large suitcases and there isn't room for hanging their contents, doing a full unpack or even storing these sized bags. We improvised on clothes horse and curtain rails, but definitely a one nighter for a couple, a little longer for a single, but not a long stay option, which is a shame because the great kitchen makes longer stays feasible. The TV couch is too cramped for both to enjoy, with no room for foot rests. None of that mattered in the end. We visited Highclere, Newbury, Henley, friends and Southampton and Garden Cottage was perfectly central at a great price. Newbury is a little gem too.

A perfect place for couples or travellers who want to have a fully equipped accomodation just outside the town centre. Julia is warm and helpful hostess and everything is clean and cosy. Newbury offers so many beautiful places nearby and the landscape is marvellous. We highly recommend.

Really lovely place to stay for the races. Has everything you need for self catering and set in a beautiful garden. Easy parking and location for either the town or the racecourse. Would absolutely stay here again.

It was very clean, well equipped, and cosy, also in a great location for walking into Newbury. Julia, was an excellent hostess making sure I had everything I needed, for a comfortable stay.

We had a great stay at the cottage and it had everything we needed! The location was good to explore Newbury and Julia was very helpful and responsive so communication was excellent. We hope to stay again when we next visit!
